Just wondering if the F18 can be flown in the Nevada map. I want to purchase it and being that F18's were more designed for carrier ops I was wondering if it will have flights available for Nevada... I mean there's not much water out there for an carrier :D :pilotfly:

F18s carrier capable plane but its not like carrier based aircraft can't land or take off from airfields.

Besides usmc uses Hornets alot from land bases, and there are plenty of export hornet users where it serves as purely land based fighter for thier respective air forces.

F/A-18 is a multirole aircraft and it can execute mission taking off both from the sea and from land. In DCS the main objective is to recreate (simulate) the real life of a pilot.

So we can imagine to make some practise and training with different weapons in Nevada (as in real life) and when ready going in mission in Persian Gulf.

I like all maps because You can try differnt places and solutions for each mission.

I use Normandy Map only with IIWW aircrafts because of the storical Map. I use all other aircrafts in Nevada, Caucasus and Persian Gulf Map.

The F18 is formidable in any environment. It's a great module to start with, very forgiving and easy to fly - systems are a bit of a learning curve, yet progression is straight forward.

I Fly it regularly on Nevada and it's perfectly suited for there, as quite a few F18's usually from Mirramar. Actually fly through part of the Nevada map in real life (Star Wars Canyon - Although mostly it's Super hornet's that traverse there). Unfortunately, it's not really been modeled in DCS - Plenty of great videos on you tube of the real place though.

And indeed, a Mudhen is in the works by Razbam, try searching their sub forum thread, there should be a progress thread on there. Also, if you haven't seen, the F-16C shall also, be released in near future.
