I guess we're supposed to disconnect parachute before slowing to taxi speed?

Ah, ok, then it's a non-issue :)

I have the parachute bound to my hotas but when I press it I can't tell if the button is actually pressed in or not. I see the cover gets flipped up. I landed and once I pressed it I didn't see it get deployed. I pressed the button again and didn't see a parachute behind me. Does pressing gmit twice jettison it?

Yeah even though I have it bound to my hotas you do need to flip the cover first then press the hotas button. It doesn't seem like pressing hotas button twice will open the cover and deploy the parachute.

Completed the landing tutorial and realized that it does indeed deploy if the cover is open when you press your bind. It would be nice to have the warthog flaps switch operate all three settings of the flaps. Right now I have it for flaps landing and flaps take off. But I'm not sure if flaps are required to be off before deploying the parachute.

I did skid off the runway looking for the flaps off button before I deployed parachute.

Hmmm, mine deploys with single shortcut press, no problems here.

Also the is a separate button in the cockpit to cut the parachute loose.

Correct, left of the throttles, red cover.

Yup I realize there is a second button to cut it loose. For my settings, I have to open my cover on the button with the mouse first then press my hotas button to deploy it. Not sure why it's like that.
