I preface that I have watched the Wags video twice. I have watched Spudknockers thrice. I ran the DCS updater and I am still at version 2.5.4.27430. I have been trying to figure this out since 11:37 and it's now 2:16 so I am finally parking my pride and asking for wisdom.

Somehow I killed my Hornets SA page. I follow the videos and instructions to the T. Pausing, alt-tabbing, rewinding etc  yet when I activate the SA page, it's just... dead. No waypoint or bullseye data. No icons of any sort. No lights, no phones, no motor cars. Not a single luxury.

Please help me understand what I am missing. I have tried it in 5 or 6 different missions thinking maybe it had to be a new mission but still no joy. The screenshot below show the settings and such and you can clearly see the lifeless hulk of my SA screen lying there comatose on the right.

I apologize for being such a maroon, but I really have tried and the secret is eluding me.

Thank you all: Capn Penguin

p.s. sorry the image is so wide, my exported mfds are stretching it to the right.

Ohhh as Opps write, check you are running the latest version of the open beta. Reason are the SA page was introduced in the latest version of the game, so if you do not use the most up to date version, then that is why its not working ;-)

Update the game.

Alternative things you can try.

Im not 100% sure, but maybe you have clicked the

DCNTR in to right corner of the SA page and disabled what kind of information you see on the screen.. Example you can turn off own flights and many other different kind of things.

My guess is, you disabled everything.. However once you load another mission or take a new plane then your f18c should reset it self to default = everything is on and visible.

Well a long shot try to press D/L and hold the on/off button in for like 2 seconds. Next press Enter on the keypad.

Turn on IFF

Got to the map and enter SA moode... zoom out to example 160nm to check if other planes or radar sites show up on the screen.

In general the moment you turn on the D/L you should at least see your self in the middle of the screen on the SA page.

Personaly i did not experience your bug.

PS:. Try to put the SA page on one of the top MFD's / screens instead of the lower one.. sometimes in the f18c this can solve an problem temponary.

Like the others said its not the most up-to-date game version. The beta branch with the SA page didnt get moved to stable last Wednesday (no reason was stated) so you'd have to move to the beta to get it yourself, this week there'll be another update this Wednesday on the beta with the F14.

If you wish to switch quickly between Stable and Open Beta you can use Skatezillas tool here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053

or alternatively use cmd prompt if you dont want to download it:https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

Nice reference to Gilligan's Island though.

Thanks so much guys. I tried to update to the open beta version but again as your friendly neighborhood rain man I failed. I tried the DCS updater last night and just now per the advice received I tried the command prompt thing-a-ma-bobby, the score is now DCS update 2, frumpy old man 0. :smilewink:

I'll keep trying. Thank you all for the advice and for your time.

You have to add @openbeta at the end to specify which brand you want to update to.

So it should look like this "DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta"
