Probably so Don.

Then again, I don't see it as that bad, it also gives us time to see the acer product as well as more details on the index. Or maybe even the cosmos.

I'll believe the story when its an official statement from HP on their Reverb page, as opposed to a post in broken English and poor grammar on Reddit.

I agree, that was my immediate thought. It may still be true, but that post looks pretty dodgy!

Yup. Kinda reminiscent of one of those e-mails you get every once in a while, telling you that you have 6 unread e-mails, and all you have to do is click the link and enter your username and password on the site it takes you to.

If there is any truth to the rumor of a recall, I'd rather have them do it before I have already spent my money and now have to deal with shipping it back. In the mean time, I still have my place in line on Amazon, and haven't been charged a dime.

Hehehe. That was a fantastic review. The devious side of me right now is almost tempted to make an "insider" comment about the Reverb on the internet that will cause even more people to abandon ship as easily as they seem to have with the Reddit post. I figure, the more people get cold feet and give up when there's no financial risk to them, the quicker I'll get mine when they do start shipping them. :D

Not the most auspicious product launch, is it?

You'd rather that they let it ship hoping no one will notice "whatever it is they need to fix"? It's certainly not an auspicious start, but better than the alternative. We, DCS'ers should be used to it by now. Edge engine, F14, etc.,etc.,etc. Patients is a virtue after all.

Good thing I got my first batch Index order in. I'll still be buying the Reverb though when it eventually comes out. That clarity will make it #1. Why so many buying the Rift S with that potato resolution at 80 Hz? That's the least impressive HMD out of them all.

May be because it's the only one that you know you can buy, receive it in no time, plug it and start using it without the need of Cluster of NASA computers to have smooth performance and not a slide show :)

Because it seems the most polished and solid solution available at the moment. Reverb is out of fight and index come at the end of the year. So oculus at least win the "launch rush" fight
