Adding Trees? Question

Ok, just come up with this Question right now cause I was thinkin bout to add more tress to "my Homebase", I remember that there was a lil. mod back in the Days where a few different formation of Trees replaces some different containers (Static Objekts). But I don't think that this is the perfekt solution, is there a Tutorial or Tool how Birdy did it for his High Scenery mod?
