Hey Helles,

I downloaded 2.7 onto another hard drive due to limited space, Opened it up and couldn't see  a "saved games" file so I put it straight into "mods/aircraft folder,  pretty sure am doing something "basic" wrong LOL (not the most computer literate person in the world),

the A-4 should be installed within /saved games/dcs/mods/aircraft ... if you place it anywhere else it won’t work. Read the install instructions carefully:

@Ducatipaul No worries👍

As @Rudel_chw says, it's got to go in the saved games folder.

I have DCS installed on a dedicated drive, (F: drive), and the saved games folder on C drive. It will work.

I'll forgive you as you ride an Italian motorcycle....... that's punishment enough. 🙂

Hey Folks,

Got question/problem someone may be able to help me with,

Downloaded the A4 file, placed it in the DCS aircraft file, started DCS up and got "The following DLCs are not authorised and will be disabled: A-4E-C " msg, I opened DCS and went to installed modules and it shows up there, went to mission editor and opened the aircraft drop down box and its not there, am I missing something..?

TIA,

Cheers,

Paul

You installed it in the wrong place, check the instructions again.

Oops people already gave you the answer. Nevermind.

Here we go:

"

  • Unzip the contents of the A-4E-C folder in the zip into the following folder: C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS
  • If you have installed other DCS World mods, you might already have the Mods and aircraft folders indicated in the file path. If this is the case, merge the A-4E-C folder into any existing folders, so as to avoid overwriting any other DCS modules you might have installed in these folders."

Placed the A-4 into the Mods/aircraft folder in my Saved Games folder. I had performed a cleanup and repair of DCS a few days ago. Not sure if that's playing a part in the mod not appearing at all.

UPDATE: Nevermind. I got it working.

Why do I need the NAVPAC function on BDHI NAV COMPUTER-TACAN-NAVPAC? And what does the thin arrow on the BDHI show? I couldn't find this information anywhere.

I don't know what NAVPAC is, maybe it's not implemented yet.

If you set this switch to COMPUTER, the BDHI arrow will point to selected waypoint on the navigation radar. You have 2 waypoints, D1 and D2. So for instance if you select D2 and the switch is on computer, than the arrow will point to the D2 direction.

Following this same logic, if the switch is in tacan position, than the arrow will point in direction of the tacan channel selected on the tacan panel.

Hi,

I can't seem to bind the A-4's (v.2) hook up/down action to my Warthog. The configuration utility makes the assignments to the appropriate throttle switches, but the switches do nothing. Tried different switches - same result. Even tried the stick and still no-go. I have a similar problem with the master-arm switch. Everything else (LG, flaps, spoilers, etc.) binds and works just fine. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else tried to bind the hook to a switch?

Thanks,

Doc

By the way, it would be nice if there was a toggle for the hook (like there is for the LG). Otherwise you need either a 3-way switch or two separate switches for the hook-up and the hook-down.
