amazingme Posted June 7, 2019 Share Posted June 7, 2019 The A8 was not a genuine dogfighter like the 109 but a very good bomber interceptor at altitudes of around 6000m. You should use it as a dogfighter only when having a superior number of friends around, otherwise, stay away from fighting. Verus the Spitfire MkIX it has good top speed, excellent dive, roll, armament and can take a hell of a beating. fjacobsen Posted June 8, 2019 Share Posted June 8, 2019 As far as I know, the FW-190 was more of an energy fighter than a turn fighter, whereas the Spitfire was a turn fighter. So better use the FW-190 as a boom and zoom fighter. It dives better that most other WW2 aircraft (apart from the P-47) so if You have the altitude and get attacked from the rear - roll and dive. Certain Rüstsätze included nitrous oxide injection for high alt performance boost(not the same as MW50, if I understand correctly). This pic is directly from wikipedia.
