Has anyone tested if the new patch fixed the issue with wingman on the carrier when doing cold start? Do they also still start with wings extended?

Posted (edited)

Yes they do and catapult launch don't work.

Seriously Heatblur, wtf?! Another week and no patches.

Funny things happen when flying mission "HB Tomcat Iran Reactor Strike" using openbeta v2.5.5.32533:

Start:

Initially I had problems taxiing nearby my wingman, since he didn't fold his wings, but this was at least manageable.

Then, after I hooked up, my wingman was already on his way:

During flying some other F-14 came back to Stennis, digging into Stennis:

After coming home (~1 hour) the wingman is still burning fuel using his afterburner:

What a mess!

You didn't miss much by not having him around. I haven't managed to get through the mountains yet without my wingman crashing or running out of fuel

There was a significant change to how AI are animated in 2.5.5. We're working to solve all of the issues this created.

We patched just last patch (1 week ago!) - and new changes will ship on Wednesday. That'll be a gap of two weeks in total.

Obviously its really hard for HB to keep on track.

What I don't like too much (or maybe I just don't understand what is going on), is the overall update strategy by ED.

First, ED changes a lot.

Then the users (!) have to test.

Then 3rd parties, like HB, have to repair ...

Then users have to test again.

Then 3rd parties have to repair

Why not telling 3rd parties about changes to come BEFORE launch?

Or does this - strictly - only adhere to the stable version and OpenBeta is "designed" like how it is currently happening?

Just trying to understand what is going on :smartass:

Anyway, and I can't stress it enough: Flying HB's aircraft is top.

Other planes are nice, yes indeed.

But im my DCS world HB aircraft (especially the Viggen,.... yeah yeah I know ...) have "integrated onboard soul" (IOS) :D

It's very difficult for a 3rd party to keep track when they have a bunch of bugs they are currently working on, and then a patch breaks their module, even more, making them have to take more time to fix this as well. I'd rather wait and have solid fixes on my modules than meet some deadline on a feature that somehow breaks my landing light switch, or makes my game crash with a loadout at Al Dafhra.
