[REPORTED] RDR ATTK HOTAS controls

The RDR ATTK format has a handy feature where you can use the TDC cursor to select some options. This is outlined on figure 6 7 in the DCS F/A-18C manual [pg. 168]. However, a couple options do not work as illustrated.

 

All functions work except the pulse repetition frequency option and the RSET option. This is demonstrated in the .trk: when hovering over the PRF option, the three available options of HI, MED, and INTL should display similar to how it works with the bar and azimuth setting (as shown in the manual). Additionally, the RSET button does not work with the TDC - this is demonstrated after I designated a Launch & Steering trackfile and then tried hitting the RSET button with my TDC cursor, and the L&S remained designated.

I was shocked when I discovered the ability to change the bar and degree of scan range with the TDC cursor, as when using VR it is much easier to do it that way rather than reaching for the mouse or simply having to remove your hand(s) from the HOTAS. Did not know that you were able or were supposed to be able to select those other settings with the TDC cursor as well. After reading your post, I tried it and you are correct - not able to select or modify those other options you discussed. Now the only remaining question for me, is whether you are actually supposed to be able to adjust / modify those other settings. Haven't referenced the manual yet, but will be my next step until coming back to check the forums.

Not at a PC right now, so i can't test but does it work when clicked manually instead of using the TDC?

@Moafuleum Yeah this is just about the TDC not working with those functions.

 

@Don The figure I mentioned, 67 on page 168, does illustrate the fact you should be able to use it with these options. You can see the control zones and the 3 PRF options displaying as if the TDC was over them.
