Bestandskraft Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 (edited) When entering an MP mission that has a QNH different from standard (29.92), the altimeter is initially automatically set to the actual QHN for the pilot, but not for the RIO, in which case it is initially set to standard pressure. I have not tested whether this is also the case in SP. Edited August 6, 2019 by IronMike
QuiGon Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Well, this is neither a bug nor a problem. It's the RIOs job to adjust his altimeter! But this should of course be true for the pilot and I'm actually confused that you say it isn't. I have never piloted the F-14, but I fly on the backseat almost every day and my pilots always have to set their altimeter pressure as well (unless they always lied to me). Edit: Have you or the pilot been the host in your tests? Maybe correct altimeter only gets set for the host automatically :dunno: Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Bestandskraft Posted August 5, 2019 Author Posted August 5, 2019 I was the pilot and host, the RIO was the client.
QuiGon Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I was the pilot and host, the RIO was the client. Interesting, because in my flights we're usally both just clients. So maybe that's the reason why? IronMike Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 This is a server host issue. DCS can be very quirky when client and host are the same. It is better to use the dedicated server option. There is nothing we can do about this unfortunately. Bestandskraft Posted August 24, 2019 Author Posted August 24, 2019 I just reproduced this issue on a private (non-dedicated) and a public (dedicated) server. The following seems to be true (tried various times): Whenever the Pilot clicks "Fly" first, the RIO will have the correct mission pressure automatically set. Whenever the RIO clicks "Fly" first, the RIO will instead have 29.92 initially set, regardless of mission pressure. These were all starts from "parking lot" (with engines running).
