Hi, I‘m trying to load a template for the al dhafra afb (latest dcs version). But I always get the same error when I try to load the mission:

Shader /shaders/model/fake_omni_lights.fx* failed to compile. Reason:

warning X4717: Effects deprecated for D3DCompiler_47 tundeared centes scattering Weig,72

I downloaded the fixed vpc mod and I also downloaded the fixed omni lights and paste them into the bazar folder. What am I doing wrong? Can please someone help me, your mod looks so cool!

It's hard to identify the cause ... for me, this fixed the issue:

 

 

 

but you say that you have applied this fix and it doesn't work for you, would have to be at your PC to check what do you have wrong.

 

What I can do is show you how I have this Mod installed on my DCS:

The bulk of the VPC Mod goes onto /Saved Games/DCS/mods/tech, I install it using a Mod Manager:

 

 

Then the small shader fix goes onto the DCS program folder, I also install it with a Mod Manager since any DCS update will overwrite the fix:

 

 

Once these two elements are present, DCS recognizes the VPC mod on the Mod Manager:

 

 

and the Templates that employ this Mod will load properly, like this:

Alright, now it worked! I used the wrong light fix… stupid me! Thanks for all the work! It looks great. Would be so cool if dcs looks more“alive“. Is it possible to have something like airtraffic?

Seems that 2.9.10.3948 now finally broke it.

The fix (the old fx files) now break shader compile, without the fix, the missions are broken and also won't load.

Looks like last update to dcs 2.9.11.4686 brokes the mod somehow.

If i place building from mod, for exaple VP_KDP or VP_SKP, firehouse, etc., i'm getting black flickering in the cockpit while taxiing to the runway or when fly above those buildings.

Using mod v. 0.9.6 and shader fix for v. 2.9.6 from that thread.

Can that flickering be solved somehow?

Just tested and I dont see any black flickering, maybe you have another Mod conflicting with it?

Hi @Rudel_chw, would u be so kind to please send me the link for the mod ? I can't find it. I downloaded the VPC part one and part 2 that u find on Google but I think those are OLD versions indeed they dont work.

Yes i`m using some mods.

Here are the list of my mods installed, track where i`ve got flickering and for information screenshot from aida64 with current GPU temperature.

Maybe i`ve some hardware problems or maybe flickering is caused by the sun in game? Somewhere on the forum, maybe in russian part, i`ve found info about flickering and the sun in game, but there were no solution for that.

I don't have some of those mods, so I can't play that track to check on my pc.

OK. Here's the same mission with the stock Su-27 instead of Su-30 from mod. The same flickering.

Don't know what to do with that...

My GPU is an oldish RTX2080, and my nvidia driver is v.560.94

Can i ask few more questions? What edition fo nvidia driver do you have: studio or game ready, what settings in nvidia control panel?

Actually, I'm not the kind of user who tinkers with 3d graphics settings ... so I truly don't know if i'm using studio or game ready and the info window of nvidia does not say:

 

 

Also, I only adjust the 3d setings on DCS, the driver's are at default mostly:

 

 

 

I just need reasonable fluidity and good enough textures and then my time is spent flying rather than tuning graphics

I finally found a solution to the flicker. It was all about the anti-aliasing settings. When using MSAA, I got flickering. There is no flicker when using DLAA.
