Dedicated Server: AI bug fixed? Not for all units!

Hi guys,

 

Thanks for having solved the problem of AI not engaging at all when server was running as dedicated with -norender option. During our last sortie, SAMS were indeed back into action but some of the units that we are using a lot, Infantry Soldier Insurgent, are still running around when engaged but are not firing back. Using Soldiers AK seems to be ok though. Can you check all the units in game to see if the correction was applied?

 

I know it is not your problem also but several mods are not engaging either. It would be cool to share with the modders what needs to be changed.

I tried various missions today with --norender on and --norender off.

 

 

When --norender is on. AI Enemy Air does not attack. In fact I flew between two aircraft and was ignored.

 

When --norender was off. The AI aircraft are hostile and attack without mercy.

 

 

AI Ground forces attack either way...

If you have a simple mission that replicates the issue please post it. It is much easier to successfully replicate it with a mission file than having to guess the specific units used, on which map, date, and weather. All of which could be factors.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Yeah those don't help. I don't know which tasks you were doing or anything like that, you do. So please, make a mission featuring the units you experienced ignoring potential targets with roughly the same tasks, weather, time of day, etc. Plus I don't want to spend 20 minutes flying on the slim chance that I stumble upon the AI that you flew formation with. Basically if a bug can occur in the first minute with a handful of units then post a mission featuring that.

 

If its a dynamic units issue then get the table sent to coalition.addGroup() to spawn them after your code, moose, etc does whatever it does to create the table so that the objects can be spawned at mission start and more easily tweaked.
