kram56
Hi I'm thinking about a minor upgrade, my current system is as folows. M Board: ASUS A8R-MPV Graphics C: MSI RX1950 Pro (512 mo) - crossfire Ram: Corsair Twinix CMX512-3200LLPT (1 gig in total) CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2 GHz) What do you think is the weakest component of my system ? Upgrading to 2 gig of RAM would cost 109€. A second graphics card 180€. Upgrading the CPU to a AMD Opteron 154 - 2.8 GHz 195 €. Thanks for any advice
3Sqn_Fudd
For Lockon? More RAM http://3sqn.com/forum/ Here's to 1.13 -- > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0488djMDBU
S77th-GOYA
The CPU and then the RAM. I have the same CPU and overclock it to nearly 2.6 Ghz on air in a hot room. Now that cooler temperatures are arriving here, I can bump up the OC to over 2.6. Overclocking is free.
Kuky
I'd advice same as Goya... get faster CPU then up RAM to 2GB No longer active in DCS...
Ramstein
CPU< but don't bother unless you go for the Duo Core with motherboard... anything else is a waste... :music_whistling: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
emenance
I agree with everybody else, get a better cpu, I have a 3700 laying around for sale. Since installing the AMD 4000 I am for the most part HAPPY with how lock on runs for me on my rig in the sig. Some people here droped SLI cause for lock on it wasnt worth it or making a diff. Yeah 2gm of memory would be ok .....but I think my raid 0 helps here. Also I have never seen Lock on cause my system to go over 800mb pysical ram being used during game play. so Im still not a huge fan of 2 gb ram with lock on esp since I got a great video card and on a raid 0 . I get to build a q6600 2 gb ram system for the new year. Asus P8Z68-V GEN3/ 2500k 4.4ghz / Corsair 64gb SSD Cache / Corsair 8g 1600 ddr3 / 2 x 320gb RE3 Raid 0 /Corsair 950w/ Zotac 560TI AMP 1gb / Zalman GS1200 case /G940/

kram56
Thanks for your advice  I don't want to change motherboard so I need a a socket 939 CPU. Will jumping from 3500+ to 4000+ / 4200+ really be noticable or should I look for something quicker ? Also should I look for a straight Athlon 64 or the X2 version? The FX is out of my price range.
