The Pylon and Weapon type selector is a suggestion, not writ in stone selection that will only fire off that rail. So, if you had an R-60M on board with the type selector up (IR), then the ASP will provide lock tone for the R-60M and, if you fired, would have released the R-60M. Yes I had other IR missiles, I then tested with only 4 R3-R's & it worked....kinda...the radar scope didn't give me 5-Missile-heady & 4-Launch red-lights(see pic).
