  1. 1. Poll: Would you want a B52 module with multi-crew capability in DCS?

No, but not because I don't want a big bomber with multricrew…. I rather have a B-17 module with multi-crew capability!!!! those gunners and bomber positions would be fun!

So, you would not want one at all? ever? I don't think the OP was implying in the poll that there would only be 1 bomber multi crew ever, just people's opinion on having this module in game at some point :)

Modules owned:

FC3, M-2000C, Mig-21bis, F-5E, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, KA-50, Mi-8, F-14A&B, JF-17

Re: specifically the B52 multicrew...no. I really do not understand the attraction some have to being in anything other than the pilots’ seats. The F14 RIO, yes, because it’s a fast changing environment... but it seems to me the “basement” of a -52, while cool in real life, would be mind-numbing after a handful of missions. I could be wrong, buuuut even if one could find 100 4-person crews, chances are most of those would soon be asking for a transfer to another plane...ANY plane.

Personally, I’d rather see:

1. Current modules being completed;

2. Module verification returning to the old way of doing it and not requiring online access every couple of weeks. (What happens if ED goes belly-up in a few years? Two weeks after that happens, all the time and $$ invested by the players in modules, cockpits, etc become worthless. And not to be a Debbie Downer, but all companies eventually succumb to market forces or gov’t interference)

3. Multicrew is not bad in itself, but the focus on DCS (imho) is on fighters. This could be extended to light- or medium-bombers, and heavy fighters. B-25, Mosquito, A-20, F-111 etc.

Anyways, just my $0.02, thanks for reading.

Probably would be better to edit this poll/ask for opinions about heavy aircraft in general with multicrew, not just the B52. As that was originally the topic at hand, being about heavy aircraft modules in general.

Unfortunately I'm not able to edit this poll (or at least can't find a way to edit it). Actually, I based this on your comment: "I believe there would be more sales for a DCS B52H module than people would originally think." which I thought was interesting.

Feel free to set up another poll since I can't change this one.

Thanks.

That slow lumbering bomber with multi crew? Creating that would amount to HUUUUUGE workload. I don't want to tax the developers. Creating a single fighter jet module with single seat takes a considerable amount of time as it is.

It would be much easier to create...like say...an F-104, F-105 or a Tornado than a multi-crew complicated 4 engine Bomber.

A B-1B is MUCH better than a B-52. Still it would be complex...

#2 is not worth concern. If ED goes ''belly up'' they can simply turn it off in that scenario. Regardless, that's not how it works except with MMOs that have servers the whole thing revolves around. Even if ED folded, I'm sure their currently released modules would remain available, as is the case with 99.9% of other games.

That said, ALL products have a shelf life. A day WILL come when your hundreds/thousands of dollars of DCS modules are wholly obsolescent. Not anytime soon, but OS and hardware developments will eventually retire it, along with all our other games, just like has happened a dozen times in the past already with other tech and games.

There was a "sim" in the old times that had similar concept of multi crew bomber. It was about B-17. It was SP and it was limited fun, but

As a 100% single player person, I wouldn't be interested in this one.

I would say yes to a B52 AI for the Blue side. That would open escort missions for the fighters. But a crewed Buff, High alt long boring missions, I don't think so. Maybe something from the WW2 era would be a better choice.

IDK, about the B-52 but I think I would be more interested tin the FB-111 as a land base bomber and the A6 Intruder as a carrier base bomber, especially, with the new carrier some where in the future.

[My first attempt a setting up a poll]

Would you want a B52 module with multi-crew capability in DCS?

Honestly, if there was an option to fly it with and without multi-crew it would be all the better. I'd love either this or a B-1B.

Others that would be cool:

B-47 Stratojet

B-58 Hustler

Also,

I know it's not a bomber but an F-105 ThunderChief to go with the F-4 Phantom and A-4 Skyhawk.

I hadn't thought of the A6 and Aardvark but thats a good idea.
