Thank you for you patience.

In this image taken from high-speed recorders, an F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot launches an AGM-88 HARM at a ground target during a weapons system evaluation program, or WSEP, mission at Hill AFB, Utah on 22 August 2011. The WSEP air-to-ground missions, called Combat Hammer, and air-to-air sorties, called Combat Archer, are part of an annual month-long weapons evaluation exercise held at Hill by the deployed 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group, which is based at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Thanks for sharing this kind of unexpected stories. We don't hear about such very often and I think very few are aware of this kind of situation. It brings a bit of fresh air allthough it's still a bit worrying for such a young child to fly with her courageous mother. I hope things will get better in that country

I recently spoke with a Chinook pilot from the 160th SOAR*, and he said basically the same thing, that the Osprey engines were wearing out and needing replacement at a very low interval, much lower than would normally be expected.

*What does a Chinook pilot in the 160th have to do with Ospreys? Nothing, but they were parked next to each other on the ramp where I was located and the 160th guys and the Osprey guys (USAF) mingled fairly frequently.

the harriers were known for being very hard on the parts in vertical takeoffs.. so they were avoided if they had a runway avaiable. So said the crews to me when I was stationed in Europe and serviced British harriers... of course the harriers have nothing to do with the Osprey, but many aircraft can do special things, but there are tradeoffs when you use high loads in physics..
