I'm not too familiar with previous LOCERFs, so maybe it's already been discussed, but how do you think players will feel about implementing some rules designed to enhance the BVR fight? I'm thinking of making it illegal to ET-snipe and fly under, say, 50m. (150 ft.), at least for fighters.

There's nothing wrong if you have a few simple rules ... there's already 'no ecm blinking' rules, I'm sure ;)

Not using chaff (or restricting its use as to how fast it can be dropped - so macros for everyone ... realistic and easy to handle methinks - or plain no using chaff when a missile is ahead of your 3-9 line), restricting flight to above 50m (unless landing or crashing) would basically fix up the majority of issues for BVR.

The rest pretty much need to be adjusted in game because it is too painful

to remember things about it in the heat of battle - ie. low-flying aircraft should suffer from reduced radar range due to sidelobe reflection from the ground, and other fun things. Visibility/LODs also needs adjusting. This is effectively stuff you can't 'fix' with a rule. But the above simple ones - easy enough.

If the mission is well designed (which most have been) you're dead if you fly below 3000m! ;)

I don't recall seeing anyone flying under 50m in any redflag unless they are landing. And I can attest to Lauds comment, flying below 3000m is a pretty bad idea. bloody avengers.

I read in 3sqn forums (3sqn.com) that they are working on a permanent solution to the red flag server problems. They seem to be putting together a monster machine there :)

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'

Should be obvious...

In each teams room you can find a sticky-marked topic "LOCERF Mission 07-05 Briefing".
