Show Me Your Landings!

Decided to try the mission I used for Viper IFR landing practice pre 2.7 where runway started to be visible at ~200ft on radio altimeter as-is, now with clouds in 2.7 it's something... different

I lived and live in the middle of Falcon country in central SC. Not unusual to have my morning coffee rocked by 16s out of KSSC SHAW Gamblers or KMMT guard Swamp Foxes. Stir in some AH-64 Apaches also of of KMMT. I flew in and around the bombing range S of Shaw. Now gone we also had A-10s out of Myrtle Beach and the occasional Marines out of KNBC in Harriers, 18s. We have even seen the "Tic Tacs" operating along the numerous low alt high speed routes. Love the vids and DCS sounds running through my nice audio system and 3 buttkickers to rumble my seat and pedals really add immersion. Keep em coming. ShotGun 1.

Yeah, I need to wait for the ABS inclusion...😢

The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.

I'm the same way. I've been playing flight sims since the early-1990s and never managed to land properly in any of them. I tell people I fly like Indiana Jones, "Fly? Yes! Land? No!"

I didn't plan that landing. It just happened... Navy can on the boat, Air Force can do on the tanker, right? 🤣

Either tighter break turn so you're closer on downwind, or shallower bank angle. I noticed you spend a lot of time looking at the HUD during the turn, only checking the runway three times before it's in the screen without moving your head. I would be bouncing back and forth between runway and HUD roughly every second all the way throughout the turn, adjusting my bank as needed.

Looking at that video I’d say the root cause is a lazy break which put you wide on downwind. pull harder, should be 2.5-3G pull. When you roll out on downwind your missile rail should be on the runway (assuming no wind). You also perched late which made you drug in on final.  Like others said, cross check the runway more. it’s obviously easier with VR or track IR but your cross check should be 80% runway 20% inside. The runway is your primary reference as you play out the final turn. I only look inside to cross check airspeed and “half way down at half way around” the final turn.
