Holy crap those are amazing. The shadows on the ground from the clouds as well are just WOW! I hope the performance hit in VR isn't too bad. Not sure my RTX3090 will handle it 🙂

@=Pedro= @Lurker

The worries should be gone considering the post of Sceptre, hopefully for VR too.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming HIND stream/video, more for the actual clouds than the Mi-24 🙂

Will the A/G radar map mode on high elevation pick up the new clouds? A kind of bootstrap weather radar? They look sooooo good.

The MiG-21 radar already does that btw. So yeah, I wonder as well if this will be the case for the Hornet?

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

are the clouds closer than we think?

I felt like were a long time away, then was happy to see them in the 2021 and beyond vid. But now wags has been showing them in two hornet vids I'm wondering if they are coming fairly soon. They would only be asking for trouble if they flashed them around like that with no intention of getting something out in the next couple of months. Surely? 🤞Cloud surfing a military jet in VR.... I really can't wait.......

Considering that major updates are more like a month apart I think two months is probably pretty accurate. Can't wait for the clouds! They look awesome in those two videos.

Looks like 2.6 will be skipped over and we will get the clouds with 2.7 (hopefully)

From today's newsletter:

"The wait is almost over, and the new clouds for DCS World will be introduced in the 1st quarter of 2021. In addition to being visually stunning, the new clouds will block visual and optical sensor line of sight and be synchronized online. We will initially release the new cloud system with an array of weather presets that will cater to most mission building scenarios. Later in the year, we will update the Weather Tool in the Mission Editor that will allow finer control of the clouds with a dynamic weather system based on a more advanced meteorological engine"

Looks very promising. Especially that the clouds also influence optical sensors.
