jester224
It seems that there are lots of new aircraft people want to see in the game. The current set of companies are doing there best to satisfy demand. Trouble is you are looking at years to develop one aircraft to a beta release and even longer to finish it. Hence why they are so expensive. There either Eagle Dynamics need to spin off a subsidiary to just churn out content or someone out there needs to invest some serious cash. Developers, artist and modellers don't come cheap let along the marketing an support teams. If I win the lottery I would make the investment. :pilotfly:
fenderplayer946
BST where in that situation. I believe it was more of a trial to demonstrate how the 3rd party system would run. They since have been reabsorbed into ED. I think they work in the same areas just under the ED banner. Not sure what difference it would make to dev time, most of what has been accomplished took so long because of the complex modelling involved. There's only so much man power you can throw at a problem before it reaches saturation.
Kang
I think the suggested point here is: having more manpower, as in more dev teams, more modules could be developed in parallel. It's hard getting started, though, both from a business point of view and a technical point of view.
upyr1
If the A-4 team wanted to do so what would stop them from becoming official DCS developers? I'm a crappy coder, often unemployed so I'd be willing to invest time.
