X56 Mode switch issue

So, as most of you are aware, the x55/56 throttle has a 3 way mode switch we can use as an modifier selector.

My current issue is that DCS has stopped receiving inputs from this selector, the rest of the throttle bindings work fine and it is only the selector that is failing

I have verified that the throttle is producing an input, it is only DCS that is not detecting that input.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I think I figure out what might be happen.

you have to change your mode switch to a button, so DCS can recognize it as a modifier.

first you have to open the logitech program software, then choose throttle program, and click in view so you can see the modes buttons in blue color. click the mode 2, for instance, and choose no buttons. save your profile and apply it to your hotas. Now back to DCS it will recognize it as a button and you can add it as a modifier.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Hey,

I hit this issue today while learning new MI-8. Yesterday I`ve configured Mode1,Mode2, and Mode3 switches as pilot seat changer. These were detected by DCS as JOY_BTN_34, 35 & 36.This morning it stopped working, so I got here. Your suggestion worked only for single mode change, as if I tried to configure other mode changes as "no button" option it was blocked by logitech editor as already used option.

So I found another way to do this. When I opened logitech profile file (.pr0) following section appeared for Mode1 configured as "no button".

[selectionset

[buttoncombo

We can clearly see that Mode2 & Mode3 have some nested selectionset & buttoncombo objects. I just removed them using text editor and functionality works as it should for all 3 buttons:

It seems like it gets broken each time when I open the file in Logitech editor and naviate to mode editor.

Hope it will help someone!

Not sure if this will help but in the X55 I go to the icon in the system tray and right click it and choose clear which will clear any profile that auto loads and the mode switch is recognized in DCS as buttons. But you must do this every time before you load DCS

hi there,

I've followed all the steps and this still does not work for my x55 . Mapped the modifiers in dcs (joy_btn 32,33,34), checked within hotas software that everything works. Throttle buttons do not unless programmed without a modifier. Reinstalled drivers, nothing is broken... but I must have missed something to get it properly working together in dcs. Any ideas from x55/56 flyers? I really want a world with modifiers! Brand new pc x570 motherboard. hotas plugged into blue usb 3 so its not electrical problem or something like that.. i don't think. ? Can anyone help? thx.

** update. I erased everything, the madcatz program, the drivers, the .lua files for the joystick in DCS saved games input folders for all aircraft. Now all my settings are gone in dcs for all aircraft.. starting over I guess. The mode switch now works but the keyboard and joystick in cockpit do not now... what is going on??

If anyone else wants a more clear explanation for how to solve the issue, go to Logitech's software for X56, go to mapping, open the profile and delete file called untitled.pr0. You can do either that or right click the X56 icon in system tray and close the profile, but that's temporary as opposed to deleting it entirely.
