F-18 Marine forward deployed

Is it possible in the mission editor to make a forward refuel base for the F-18 like might be used with deck plate runways or next to a road. Thus enabling them to forward deploy in support of ground forces. In a mission were its a two flight to and from a Carrier would be nice if there was a RARF were there are no airfields

Perhaps this Mod allows you to build such a FRB:

I have tried it.

A couple of things i encountered:

1) Finding a spot where you can put down enough mats (Sunstags mod) to make a long enough runway.

Remember, the FA18 is not a STOL aircraft if she doe'snt have her wires.

2) You need practice, but her being a carrier girl the undercarriage can take it, its the braking distance that got me (in combi with finding flat land thsts long enough)

3) other a/c like the A10 just crash. The undercarriage is (modeled to ?) weak.

What could also work, is finding a length of road that is flat (harder then you think) and long enough. Use a remove scenery trigger so you can concentrate on landing on that thin line.

And pray for no crosswind lol.

So long post short, i would say yes.

If i remember correctly, just a case of placing the correct ground vehicles net to the apron or parking spot.

Check sunstags doc on his farp to find out which one.

I'll have a look if i still got the mission i made on my hd

I believe the OP is asking for a FARP that isn't a huge hump that an airplane could use.

In which case, natively, no, with mods, mostly no although more is available to Single Player than Multipler.

FARP use requires the using airplane to be in contact with the model in order to use it's services, and that is where the problem arises.

I tried and many after me, to adjust the model to be more accepting, but anything thin requires perfectly flat surfaces in order for it to not float above ground, due to the DCS terrain engine.
