MobiSev
I absolutely love that the damage is server side now, instead of client side. It makes for much more immersive multiplayer experience. However, we really need the ability to: 1. Repair damaged runways/taxiways AND/OR 2. Have a server option to make the runways/taxiways invulnerable to cratering When is this going to happen? To me at least, a semi-quick fix until the above options became available would be just to designate only the runway as client side damage only, with the rest of the map being server side damage. Xilon_x
repairing a damaged track would require additional earthmoving equipment.
MacEwan
I could see this being of use when true Dynamic Campaign is released.
panton41
For what it's worth, in the lengths of time involved in many multiplayer games, there probably wouldn't be time to repair a runway. During Desert Storm the USAF had, rather nasty, policy of having F-111s from BLU-107 Durandal runway cratering bombs along the runway and then have F-16s drop CBU-89 GATOR mine-laying cluster bombs. Neither weapon is modeled in DCS as far as I know. Exactly. even with ultra quick methods it would take at least 6 to 8 ours..

You can improvise some pretty destructive anti runway bombs out of some of our other munitions though. Or the german version, the MW-1 :D We do have the french BLG-66 Belouga though, which is a anti runway munition IRL, although as a cluster bomb, it does no damage to runways in DCS. You might be confusing with the BAP-series bombs (bombes anti piste = anti runway bombs) which were planned at some point for the mirage but they didn't make it
