Militariy Aircraft Mod

Recommended Posts

The textures on the KC-10 are not working properly. The fuselage is a dark color, while the wings and other parts of the plane are a much lighter color grey/white. On Version 1.5 I wasn't having this issue. The only KC-10 texture that is working properly is the Blue and White livery. Is anyone else having similar issues?

Hi Rudel-chw

You can change the french livery , I've made an other one with a french registration number.

The old one was a spanish temporary number ::cry:

And as I see on your screebshot, you 've taken a wrong Roughmet (german army)

Take the ZIP attached

Regards

Thank you for the file, will try it out tomorrow

Cheers

Please only use authentic paintings and pay attention to the light and weather conditions on the day the pictures were taken on different pictures of a P-3 Orion. There are also many decals on the P-3 that have the corresponding real colors. Please no fictitious liveries.

Download P-3 Orion PSD :https://www.dropbox.com/s/f8u9np6lt0vyva9/MAM_P3C_GB.psd?dl=0

Why? I have never seen anyone release a skin template with the condition "Don't use this for fictitious schemes"

Is this an "official" stance of the Military Aircraft Mod, that no skins shall be made that aren't of a real aircraft?

So the guy deleted his comment now, I take it this was someone's personal template?

I presume you're referring to the other three USAF planes that don't have a rough material or normal map.

McGuire 70124

McGuire 90433

Travis 20193

I modified an existing rough material to work with them and altered the lua files to use it. Seems to look normal to me now.

Just extract these into the existing folders.

I added those updated files; however, I'm still having the same issue...it appears normal from a great distance in the game but as you move closer to the aircraft the textures become extremely pixilated and the colors become distorted. The only KC-10 livery that doesn't do this is the Blue and White livery. All others seem to have this issue.

The pictures you show here are authentic. I mean working with the kit for grinds that degenerate into children's poop. See F-14 and F-16 and also F-15. Not the Tiegermet paintings. These are very demanding. I also have nothing against special meals. An example is an F-16 with a painting of a nation that does not have this F-16 in its inventory. It doesn't have to be. There are so many liveries for the P-3Orion that you can work on it for weeks. For certain details such as logos and patches, you have to search very intensively on the Internet to get very close to the original. The biggest problem is the different colors on the fuselage, which were created by shooting in different lighting conditions.

I paint Tomcats however I feel, historical and non-, and I am working on templates for other skinners to use. I don't give a flying crap HOW they use those templates, because they were also kind enough to help me with mine.

I have worked in mods and modding teams (Roma Surrectum 2/3 for RTW) for many years and have almost never seen the attitude you display about the use of *your* template. We knew that people would go and flavor the mod to taste, add non-historical units in on their own, etc. So I'll just make my own I suppose, just like I did with the E-2D. And I'll let folks use it and paint My Little Pony schemes or whatever the heck they want with it.

If you just put a solid template out there, people will use it. Some would be fictional, yes, but plenty will be historical. But since that's the attitude you choose, good riddance.

This is a great mod, thank you.

I love intercepting the P-3 in the MiG-21 and just escort it out of the area again.

Thank you to the team behind this mod, it is really fantastic.

I was wondering if someone on the team was thinking about "updating" the F-117 model we currently have in DCS with a new model included in your mod. Just a question thrown out there, I don't expect it to happen, but who knows ? I had to ask.

Thanks to the team that put this together, definitely some must have AI that I'm honestly surprised ED didn't include.

I have a question, could you clarify the comments on the KC-10 Extender? Do you mean it won't work to refuel your own aircraft, but it will refuel AI aircraft?

Thanks!
