Wali763
Hi. I was not sure, where to post (is it a bug or not?), so I did it here. I flew the mission three and four of Operation Exigent Riviera the last two days and DCS crahed three times. Twice in Mission 3, once (at the first attempt) in the night-Mission 4. Im not sure now, but I think it was always, when I got shot down by a SAM. But I got shot down once or twice, when DCS did not crash........ I already did a repair of DCS but it did not change a thing. Can anybody point me into a direction, how to solve this? After the crash a checkbox, if I want to send a crashreport appeared and after confirming a command-box with a few lines showed up. Is there a seperate crash-log? Could it be, that Im missing some crash-files like (sound etc). I had that on the F-14 shortly after release in March IIRC. Thx. PS: BTW I love the Campaign Exitent Riviera; there are so many and diffrent things you need and for this Ive learned quite a lot from it. Even SAMs havent been nice to me! Harker
I played that campaign recently and I didn't experience a crash. Although that was a few updates ago, something might have changed since then, that messes up something, but I don't think it's related to the campaign. If you open the campaign missions, they're just normal missions, nothing special about them. The only thing that is external is the LSO script, so you might want to try modifying the mission to remove it. Wali763
Hi. I found the log-files. They were in my saved-games-folder and not the game-folder, where I suspected them to be. Should have known or searched for that. Sorry for being stupid. Also uploaded the files from yesterday. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted November 24, 2019 ED Team Share Posted November 24, 2019 Hi thank you for the zip folders and the tracks contained in them, unfortunately I am unable to use them due to having unofficial mods. I would recommend removing all unofficial mods and running a cleanup and repair, guide below in my signature. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Wali763
Hi. Thx for your help. Just did a cleanup and repair as suggested (which only removed 5 Tomcat-liveries) and did Mission 3 in Exigent Riviera again. Let myself get shot down by the SA and DCS crashed again. See pic. I then removed the Deckcrew- and CivilAircraft-Mod from the mod-folder, but then could not restart the mission. Put back in the Deckcrew-Mod but not the CAM, and let myself get shot down twice. But in both cases NO CRASH. I will do the other missions from Mission4 upwards and try to verify, that the CAM is the culprit, that is causing my system to crash. I attached the crashlog from the first try (cleanup and repair but with Deckcrew and CA-mod).dcs.log-20191124-213651.zip Edited November 24, 2019 by Wali763
Harker
FYI, you can just go in the Mission Editor, remove the units that rely on mods (delete the deck crew and any CAM aircraft), save it and then you can run the mission without the need to keep the mods installed. Then you can see if you crash and if so, you can give a track that the devs can use, since it doesn't contain any mods. Btw I had CAM installed while I played the campaign, without crashes. But also there are no CAM units in the missions by default. Did you add some CAM units yourself? The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord. Wali763
Hi. I just added the CAM since in the description of the compaign it was stated nessecary. Did not add any planes myself either. Right now Im doing the campaign mission by mission, meaning I open a specific mission in the campaign-folder and not the whole campaign. I know of the possibilty to open the missions in the ME and remove items; did that with the InstantAction-missions quite often. I will try that, if the removal of the CAM does not help. Thx for now.
