Belphe
I just noticed my SSAA setting is set to OFF and.. that's the only setting I can have. Has this function been disabled (I play DCS Open Beta)? Can other settings disable this one? Thanks! Never say never, Baby! petsild
For 4K resolution is SSAA blocked, due to a large loss of performance. 1 MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium. Belphe
Thanks. What is considered a better visual option: 4k with no SSAA or 1440p with? Thanks Never say never, Baby! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Bagpipe
Looking at Spud's most recent vid i would say you can get better results (visual vs performance) from 1080p w/ SSAA x2 than 1440p w/ SSAA x2. An odd one but the x2 on 1440p is a real drain on resources whereas on 1080p it would be less so if you have a decent enough rig. The majority of aliasing disappears on x2 SSAA so i would go for the lower res, higher settings if i could
Donut
On my system with 1440p, I do not see any FPS difference with MSAA 2x or SSAA 1.5 on/off. Empty NTTR map, F-14 sitting on the runway looking straight ahead, FPS around 90. Same situation, but with a few aircraft on the ramp, FPS in the 50's. I get the same exact FPS with aliasing on or off. I make sure to exit DCS and delete the fxo and metashader folders after each change. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"

Thanks You can experiment as recommended by the Bagpipe, or if you have a Nvidia generation 20xx I'd try a new feature Gpu Integer scaling. petsild
Reducing the resolution will retain image quality for more fps. cSkpiBB3eP0 MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium. BitMaster
When I switch to SSAA 1.5x only, my mirrors stay blank mostly and 2x is a no-go, it tanks my fps too much. I have settled with MSAA2x and SSAA1.5x to get the mirrors back up but in order to save some fps I had to reduce shadows. I am constantly working on that issue bit my 1080ti is just a little too weak to have both MSAA2x and SSAA1.5 with full shadows, it drops me below 60 for any scene other than blue sky. My hope is Vulkan tbh. I hope it will give me a 10-20% boost with same hardware. The problem is, you either have full shadows and little glimmer on trees or you sacrifice the nice glimmer free trees for more fps. I sit between two chairs and cant really decide for either side but the 1080ti cant have both at 1440p. I have shadows on low and default, MSAA 2x, SSAA off and still see FPS drop below 60 at times. 4.6GHz CPU and 1080 Ti struggles at 1440p. I even briefly bumped my CPU to 4.8GHz and overclocked my GPU as a test, but still could not maintain a 60 FPS minimum in all situations. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
