Changing laser code

From the changelog:

Added ability to change bombs laser code on ground (like in F-5).

 

I can see the codes on the kneeboard but I can't change them.

I have GBU's loaded, keybindings are correct but nothing happens?

 

Am I missing some steps or is it just bugged at the moment?

cant check it atm, but shouldnt changing of lasercodes happen on the corresponding DED Page?

You can do it only on cold, stationary aircraft. The same restriction applies to F-5E.

But it's still bugged I think. I've changed the laser code on the ground (cold and dark startup) to 1655 and the GBU12 missed target. Changed it back again to default 1688 and that worked fine again. Unless I'm doing something wrong here :)

Does it mean that GBU laser code isn't linked anymore to the pod LTD code now ? So GBU laser code can't be changed anymore in flight ?

You need to change the TGP code from the DED, to match the bomb's code.

I did. But is the bomb code in the mission editor still leading? Or can you change it on the ded anytime regardless?

The bomb code in the mission editor should be the one displayed on the kneeboard.

 

And indeed question is: can we still change GBU laser code in flight like it used to be before the update by changing TGP LTD code on DED ? Or has this 'trick' been removed now that we can change laser code on the ground ?

ED always said that it was a temporary trick, so i guess that now, changing TGP code doesn't impact anymore the GBU laser code, like it should be.

Yes, changing GBU code inflight was temporary. Now you can change it only on ground. And you have to verify manually that TGP and GBU codes match. TGP code still can be changed on DED page

That's a great step forward! :thumbup:

Now it just misses a proper GUI to set the Laser Code. Untill that happens the kneeboard is a good workaround though. :)
