no bug Canopy Not Closing

The canopy is not closing.

I can't say exactly what triggers this, but it happens on both single/multiplayer under these conditions:

 

-rearming

-ground power

-full start up

 

when the aircraft is fully ready, canopy just doesn't slide.

You can actually close the canopy immediately, but later when you land, you can't open it.

 

Current open beta version

 

 

Edit: It seems rearming is the trigger preventing the canopy to slide.

Also, I am noticing the oxygen flow indicator is not blinking

I remember having the same issue some time ago. Haven't tried in a while as ever since I take the "in air " start.

 

Would need to check when I have the time, that's the issue..

I must say also the cockpit lights look very very low. But maybe it's meant to be like that

Could you post a SP mission where it happens for you?

 

I tried default instant cold start mission ("rearming" only the livery) on Caucasus and a custom quick mission on Nevada (actual refueling and rearming with bombs). Canopy closed in both cases as intended (I use mouse for that), also the oxygen indicator was blinking OK.

 

In the second case I crashlanded and couldn't open the canopy indeed, but I don't know if it was result of a crash, or a bug.

Are you using auto startup and shut down's or manual?

 

If using auto start more than once, you can trigger a bug where the canopy does not re-seal. The L-39 was the same way before the bug fix.

Check to see if your Oxygen Mask hose or G-Suit hose is hanging over the side of the canopy rail...if so, have it checked about by Aircrew Equipment Techs!

I started closing the canopy to show you it works in the very first seconds, but a little after start up it gets stuck.

 

The same goes for the other way, if i close the canopy, later on I can't open it.

 

 

About the oxygen now reading better the manual I bwlieve it is supposed to blink after 2000m, maybe I always flew too low

Hi

 

The air system in the canopy frame when the air system is active inflates the seal in the canopy frame which will prevent closure.

I got the same behaviour, but I dont figure how to solve it, or I didnt understand the tips you gave above.

^ Make sure the cockpit air supply valve is closed I presume (the "rainbow" one on the right ;)). That should depressurize the canopy seal, allowing canopy to move freely.

This should be some kind of stickied post. I had no idea why the canopy wouldn't close sometimes. Now I know :P

I found this nearly furious about "multiplayer only MiG-15 canopy close bug"... and it turned out I just activated the airconditioning (right-hand valve) before the canopy. Silly me. It's great this thread exists.

edit: Never mind... I opened the valve before closing the canopy.
