Yellonet Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 With the modular design of DCS in mind would it be (more) possible to release a demo of DCS:BS including only a menu with maybe three simple missions and a "fly" button? That way ED could easily avoid giving access to campaign system and editor and whatever else they don't want to show until it's really ready. As I understand the actual flight system is pretty close to being done(?) A small demo where we could get a feel for the Ka-50 would mean very much to the community, I have a hard time believing that it would somehow hurt the sales of the finished product, especially if you inlcude the usual disclaimers and future feature lists. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
RvETito Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 You leave me no choice: :D Q: Will there be a DCS: Black Shark demo? A: Right now our primary focus is on finishing DCS: Black Shark and making it available to you. Once this task is complete, we will evaluate the creation of a playable demo. No decision has been made at this time. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=

-akyla- Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 :music_whistling:still a demo with a only free flight would be awesome [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Wdigman Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 It would make sense that a demo would be reliced only after some of the basic training videos are done. With so much detail and the complexities of the KA-50 to just hae free flight could be someting people may find frustrating.

No, I would have a lot of fun trying to bring this thing in the air!:) I like to have challenges.:joystick: I would like to have a demo just with the Ka-50 and its systems to play with. Or at least a expo in Europe where I can play the beta...:music_whistling: Deutsche DCS-Flughandbücher SYSSpecs: i7-4790K @4GHz|GA-Z97X-SLI|16GB RAM|ASUS GTX1070|Win10 64bit|TrackIR5|TM Warthog/Saitek Pro Pedals
ALDEGA Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Personally, I don't want them to spend much time on a demo. Development of the product itself is taking long enough. I'll happily buy BS without a demo. Some reviews from trusted sites would be good though.
Shaman Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Maybe just a running demo? Where we're not allowed to fly the beast.. but can at least benchmark the product on our systems by watching pre-recorded tracks. Just an idea. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
