Well we know it's NOT going to be a full fidelity Russian fighter, or attack aircraft. They have previously stated that, and legal reasons are the cause.

IIRC that's why they can't even make the SU-25 full fidelity.

Don't hold your breath waiting for something to upgrade out of fc3.

F-111 is an interesting one that comes up frequently in this forum, if that's any indicator of interest.

Oh the Drama...and Secrecy...

Why not just tell us what it is. Because “Everything is Subject to Change”?

Nothing mentioned by the guessing has piqued any interest for me so far.

Well other than a Multi-Crew (Pilot & Gunner is all U need) C130 Gunship or a P-38.

Logically it sounds like a full fidelity F-15 is inbound. However, I am really hoping we get our socks blown off with an A model Apache. I know the Longbow (D Model) has been replaced but I believe its technology is still in use. Either way, I am sure the vast majority of us will be really fired up about whats to come. Here's to the next DCS module......a Sopwith Camel

Apache (even the A model) is what I'd selfishly want.

More likely to be Tornado or F111.

Especially the -A model! But any of these three I think are good candidates

I don't get it, everyone wants DCS level modules for "realism", yet are quick to discount the possibility of a C and E coexisting. Strike Eagles fly with Charlies providing their cover in CAP or Escort roles. Plenty of people don't care for moving mud, some don't care for Air to Air. So the existence of one has no bearing on the other, the C has the most performance for its intended role.

The FC3 F-15C already has a PFM, an updated cockpit which has all the animations already done (even though we can't interact), and some background systems/functions supposedly modeled. It's practically only missing MFD pages, avionics/radar modes (which crossover with the F-16/F-18 ), and clickable functions. That makes it a pretty likely candidate IMO.

Actually someone should make a poll with the choices mentioned in the thread more than once. you get 1 vote, to gauage relative interest.

You gotta love us, they tell us for years we can’t have modern red air, then they say their modern jet team has a brain melting announcement and half of us think it’s MiG-29K. I’m glad we can still hope deep down after all this time:megalol:

Poll? Why?

They are not asking you what you want. It says they are telling you what you are going to get.

I vote F4 ;)

Now if its a jet:

I'd love to see a full fidelity F15C. It is the last teen series fighter to not be made full fidelity and I see it as the most likely candidate. I don't think its the F4E as that has already been announced so I doubt it would fit the mind blowing category. If it isn't the 15C that really only leaves a spattering of 50's fighters like the 104 for the US. For Russia we still don't have a modern fighter like the 29 although ED has in the past said they can't make it and its up to third parties like razbam with the MIG-19 and MIG-23. If it isn't a 15C i'm actually leaning towards a European aircraft like the tornado being it.

hmm what do people think of the chances of it being a bomber like the 52?

If its a heli:

I see the cobra or Apache a model as the most likely candidates as one had been in the works and the other the legendary attack heli and arguably either in my eyes would act as the counterpart to the hind.

I bet the aircraft to be announced is an AH-64 Apache, but I really wanted a C-130 or A400M.

I know, same here. It's certainly on par with a paid module

At the same time, ED has done the "blockbuster" jets and people are now a bit burned out on them.

IDK, I want either the F4 or a Su-27/mig-29

*correction* people aren't burned out on blockbuster jets, they are just burnt out on playing blockbuster jets in a never ending EA cycle.
