input peripherals for heli's

it would be somewhat of a pity if the release of DCS isnt complimented by some sort of heli-hotas-collective-cyclic joystick like the mods made by one of our members Urze.

now not everyone is into modding hardware due to 'availability or ability',:music_whistling: whatever the reason. :megalol: (see the difference, to no 'avail' :) )

 

i just thought maybe someone like CH might have delivered a throttle option as a seperate usb device to expand your existing hotas.

can't see using the normal horizontal throttle being of much use in the heli's, those who have tried it please share your thoughts on this.

 

also the stick might need like an extension for the handle to allow the joystick base to sit below the seat and between you legs, a bracket from the seat base, that would be nice...:thumbup:

 

i have no doubt with the coming release of DCS we will see some terrific peripheral creations...

I've been using a CH Pro Throttle as the collective and it has worked very well for me once I reverse the collective.

I use a Saitek X52 and have been flying with the throttle reversed with EECH and MSFS for years.

 

I've now ordered a full mod from URZE, so I'll let you know how it is when it arrives ;)

 

Before I ordered it though I taped a 30cm plastic pole to the side of my X52's throttle unit to see if it made any difference and was very surprised! It was MUCH more accurate.

 

I also asked Saitek if they had any plans on several occassions via several avenues, but received no reply to any of my enquiries :(

I will be using my CH Pro throttle (considering the war it took to get one here, I'll never ever let it out of my sight! :joystick: :badmood:) it works for me in EECH so I hope it will do in BS, would be nice if some stick manufacturer (Hope some guys from CH screen these forums!) would make a collective.

Im using my X45 throttle ( not reversed ! ) and im quite happy with it.

 

But i think i will order Urzes crazy mod real soon :D
