P-38 Lightning

Eviscerador

Recommended Posts

Come on, the last one of the american "Pursuit trio" and the fighter with most japanese air kills in the Pacific Theatre. Also one of the few WW2 fighters to be produced along the whole war.

Twin turbosupercharged engines, unmistakeable profile, deadly nose armament and capable of either long range fighter sweeps, interception, bombing and strafing, all on the same package.

It needs to be in the game.

So many iconic aircraft, so many we need . . . but this is a singular animal all in a class of it's own.

This needs to happen.

There is an old Mod that I use as AI aircraft on some of my missions, tough I agree that a flyable study module would be better:

Now that the Mosquito is almost here, ED will find it easier to do other twin engined aircrafts, tough I would prefer an Axis plane before another Allied one, like the Bf-110 :)

Could use some Pacific planes that humans could fly on the Axis side prior to this else folks can be very lonely with no one to fight. Hope Pacific ends up developed in equal measures throughout.

I'm looking forward for twin engine fighters, The flying will be so different from single engine planes

Yes, please .. I’d buy it on a heartbeat :)

There isn't any airworthy sample, but there are some museum survivors where you could do at least a 3d model scanning: http://www.j-aircraft.com/misc/SURVIVE.HTM

The flight model would have to be done in base to allied test reports (if any, not sure if it was ever tested by the US)

I hope your Corsair will be so successful, that you will be able to do something like this as a follow-on :D

Cheers!

Well we'll need an appropriate map like PNG/Solomons first. Or at least in development.

Oh. You'd better go tell the veterans of the 20th, 55th, 479th, 367th, 370th and 474th FGs. They seem to be under the misapprehension that they flew P-38s over the D-Day landings.
