2.5.6 some graphics not rendered in L eye

Gryzor

Recommended Posts

As title says, now appears some distant clouds not rendered in L eye, giving a strange appearence. In addition, landing light projected on runway, and some flood cockpit light, does the same, only partial renders in L eye.

Bug not present in 2.5.5.

I am also having this issue on a Valve Index.

Having the same issue, when I use VR zoom it then draws in both eyes.

Have not tried this yet.

I mostly fly the F-18, and mostly as a flight sim rather than a combat sim.

Same issues, lights, shadows, clouds, objects... however, I also have them disappear in the right eye depending on my heads orientation to the object. Especially lights and shadows.

Same here...

Tried both: Rift & Pimax 5K

Clouds, trails and even static objects on the ground disappear in the left eye.

Furthermore I have noticed a significant drop of FPS in VR!

Pretty annoying.

+1 (HP Reverb)

Can be reproduced in F16 instant action take off (Caucasus). While taking off, the airfield shelters on your right hand side will sometimes disappear

+1 Valve Index. Flashlight, Taxi lights and some interior cockpit lights only in one eye or half cut.

The same issue with Oculus Quest with Link.

It appears that some (distant) objects and shaders (observed for clouds, smoke and aircraft taxi/take-off lighting) are only being rendered for the right eye and not for the left. This was visible from the F16 cockpit looking outside and from outside view looking to the 3D world.

Hope this can be fixed soon.

My issues also include other objects, such as ground units, KC-130, KC-135MPRS, and E-2 disappearing and reappearing during day and night(NVGs).

Could someone from ED please confirm that this issue is at least under investigation?

I know you have lots on you mind these days, but this bug is quite disturbing during VR gameplay

+1

They have enabled that setting you were talking about where it only renders something in one eye. just tested it. Visual cons at 30 miles, closed left eye, still visible, closed right eye, no longer visible. It is a render problem with the left eye, which is why shadows do funny things, air and ground targets are inconsistent with their visibility distance..... Very frustrating.

options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = false

This no longer serves it's purpose, so something has been done "internally" to counteract this solution, which was working prior to 2.5.6 ....

Hope there is a simple and speedy solution.

This video shows the appearing/disappearing of clouds (watch the smaller clouds on the horizon)

This issue has always been present in DCS, but it seems to have gotten much worse since 2.5.6

It actually looks much more disturbing in VR than in this video, due to left and right eye not rendering the same image. It causes a crossed eye feeling :/

Also, both left and right eye are sometimes not rendering graphics (in addition to what the title of this thread states)

Please acknowledge this issue ED

Although the logic is backwards (from what it was prior to 2.5.6) - I can confirm that this fixes the issue of things not rendering in the left eye:

options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = true

This line goes in the autoexe.cfg file in your saved games folder.

However, the draw distance is still compromised after the 2.5.6 update..... But one step at a time right?

Cheers,

Don
