[INVESTIGATING]slow loading in 2.5.6

In 2.5.5 I had very quick loading. I have an i9 5.0ghz with nvidia 2080ti and 32gb ram.

in 2.5.6 it stays several seconds in the first mini dcs screen that appears in the main desktop.. and then it changes to full screen and starts loading the percentage bar as usually, fast.

But as said, stays several time with the first intro screen.

anyone with this one?

Mine is normal. Nothing unusual. First day after updating I played on quite populated GS server (before it rolled back to 2.5.5) and the loading was fine and I only have 16 Gb RAM.

Do you guys use mod or something?

I run DCS from a Gen 4 NVMe (4900mb/s) drive with 32GB RAM and i have seen my load times increase noticeably.

Noticed it too. The initial splash screen stays on for much longer now. Might have to do with the updater now checking every time and/or the authentication system.

It's a very noticeable increase in load times, both for the game and for the scenario/campaign once you're in the game. For the game it takes around 30 seconds longer on my system (Ryzen 5, all SSDs, 32GB ram, RTX 2070). Seems like not much, but that's 30 extra seconds, so it is noticeable.

same here,

I noticed that it loads first only the small picture with DCS logo, then after few minutes it becomes all black screen with that same picture in the middle and then after few more minutes it starts to load the menu screen.

Before it used to go straight for black screen + DCS logo picture and then menu screen in a much faster sequence

Has anyone made any progress? Mine takes about 1,5 minutes to get to main menu. Splash screen itself takes over a minute. Someone tried deleting the whole game and reinstalling?

Done the usual deleting fxo and metashaders etc. dozens of times and no luck. Pretty annoyed since before the 2.5.6 patch it took two times less the time.

Wow! You've got a system problem or system inadequacy there. Are you using an M2 SSD, a SATA SSD, or a SATA HDD for your storage? And what are your other system specs?

Mine takes about 1,5 minutes to get to main menu. Splash screen itself takes over a minute.

Had that at around 50 seconds in 2.5.5 and it takes ~2:20 minutes in 2.5.6, any build. But once it's up, 43872 and 43931 load as fast as 2.5.5 from the menu on.

Just as a side note, my rig is too old to have M.2 nVMEs. But OFC I'm running off of SSDs.

Pretty much same here. Old 3770k with 16gb ram and SSD on both Windows and DCS.

From the menu it loads as usual but startup is at least twice as slow than before 2.5.6.
