Automan Posted February 21, 2020 Share Posted February 21, 2020 FW-190A8 captured by USAAF of 404th FG. It was painted in orange-red, the JG4 insignia was misteriously preserved from painting. Initially it was damaged, after gear restoration the Maj. Leo Moon(cmdr of 404th FG) was ready on the ramp, but an oil leakage prevented him to start the take-off run: it never returned to fly and later abandoned in St. Trond, Belgium. The colour scheme was Deep Blue with a Lemon Yellow band on the fuselage and canopy, the rudder was painted with red & white stripes. The extremely big roundels differ in many details from the standard ones. . The canopy was initially damaged and reconstructed adding a reinforced ring.
