Thrustmaster TARGET Help

Recommended Posts

I just got my new Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and I would like each switch to work as a button. It seems like right now, Only one side of the switches are actually working as an input for the game. I am looking for somebody to help with programming this in the Target software, or somebody to send me their device profile.

You can map everything directly ingame, dont need TARGET software for this

I know that, but some of the switches on the throttle quadrant don’t work how I want them to. For example, when I am opening and closing the refueling probe on the hornet, I have to push it forward for it to come out, but when I push it back to close, it doesn’t work. I have to push it forward again to close it and have it read as an input.

ok, now i know what you are talking about. Had the same problem too, but the document in this post helped me to map the 2-way and 3-way switches like i wanted. So take a look

Can you explain this post to me? I am a bit confused about what that PDF says?

Lot of things can't be mapped directly in game.

or Tell me how to change joystick curves in flight or order to close canopy, wait for action finished then turn lights on, with one button, i'm curious.

ok, you can find all you want to do with TARGET Script. push a switch then send a "A", pull it back then send a "B", change joystick curves in flight, do an action till button are pushed and stop it when released, push a button once then send a "X", push it one more time then send a "Y", once again then send a "Z", etc. All you have to do is ...

RTFM !

or ask for a specific command/action ...maybe i can help.

exemple really basic, for refueling probe (Su33) out/in use :

MapKey(&Throttle, EFLOVER, PULSE+R_CTL+'r');

MapKey(&Throttle, EFLNORM, PULSE+R_CTL+'r');

If you program HOTAS using TARGET, do you have to have TARGET running during the game?

i.e., can you program a profile in TARGET, send it to DCS, then close TARGET while the game is running? It would then become a saved profile in DCS and could be used anytime you run DCS without ever having to open TARGET again?

Not agree... some things that TARGET can do, are not possible without.

A basilar exaple : for the SU 27, i use a direction of one hat of the warthog stick (by multiple press) to cycle trought CAC modes.. those modes can be switched by pressing some keys (3, 4, 6 etc.) Without target i'm not able to replicate this behaviour.

You might look at Vjoy (virtual joystick) and FreePie to do scripted remapping. I use it to set up mode switches and even interface with a MIDI controller. Target didn't jive with me.
