Out of curiosity, if you had your own firm and were given permission to produce a spin off of DCS:BS, which interceptor would you like to see?

These are the last three polls. I will post the results from all ten polls in a few weeks once these figures have come in. Its been fun.

A properly modelled Su 27 would be amazing. Ed had an amazing looking Su 27 in the works for BS when it was thought to be a lomac add on. Su 30 should be added given itsd use as multirole interceptor by many airforces. Perhaps Mig 31 B as well for bomber, cruise missile intercepts and 2 player operation.

If you want a successful interceptor, you need an F-15 ;)

-Then- things might become interesting for them Russian bombers ... -and- their escorts ;)

It gave me pain in my stomach to not hit the F-15 button, but like I've said so many times before, it is already being done. What *isn't* being done is the F-14, which is an incredibly capable fighter. I'm going to ask right now that you don't brand me as some Topgun-brainwashed fool, I laugh at that movie. I have spent many hours talking to an extremely intelligent real-life aerospace engineer who knows everything there is to know about the Tomcat and just about everything about most everything else, and he is a devout F-14D believer. I used to think it was pretty worthless, now I see it's right up there with the Ealge as one of the best air-superiority fighters ever. There are many stories of Eagles getting their aces handed to them by Tomcats, I've seen a picture of an F-14's HUD clearly showing the gun symbology directly on the canopy of an F-15A, right where the pilot sits. I'm not saying it's a better fighter, I don't beleive that, but I am saying it's very good and really worth modelling a High-Fidelity sim like DCS, it's the forgotten member of the Big Four of '70s jets. With a MiG-31 on Iven's side to even it out, it will bring in tons of new players who just love the F-14 with all thier soul, not to mention giving us great carrier gameplay.

In answer to the question of "are the models above "beingf worked on. I have no idea. They were released by Ed last year in support of Bs when we all thought it to be a lomac add on. So those models probably are in BS. If not , one can only IMAGINE what Ed are capable of now. GHowever given that lomac objects appear to be in BS iots likely these models will be as well but simple answer, I don't know.

I still prefer the Su 27 but the Apg 71 was incredibly advanced as was its Irst modified for use on the Boeing Yal 1. For Ed, an F14 would sell a fortune. Especially if A, B and D models were represented. The flight model would be largely identical except T/W for B and D), we could all fly Iranian, and F14D did fight in Southern Watch if ineffectually( 2 Aim 54C fired at long range in 1998 against receding high speed Foxbats but what isn't mentioned is 2 F 15C also fired Amraams that missed) See Osprey Us Navy F 14 Tomcat Units of Operation Iraqi Freedom and F15C / E Eagle Units of Operation Iraqi Freedom for details. Both by Osprey books.

Well given that DCS should allow two seat play, it would make it the first real Tomcat sim.. but that's up to ED to do though.

But then again, I voted Su-33 anyways, such a fun plane.....

Tomcat, Delta. Would pay lots of money to have that one. Regarding the Mig-25 incident, afaik the Migs turned tail and burned when they were spiked by the APG-71 they ran out gas shortly there after and one crashed. If they had tried to stay in the engagement envelope they probably would have been splashed. The Aim-54C+ is very smart and resistant to ECM so I don't think it would have gotten confused by Sea/Ground clutter etc.

F-14... or Su-27. I picked F-14 because if I wanted the Su-27 I'd fire up FC.

F-14's always been my favorite fighter... even before I even watched/heard of Top Gun.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Have a Bandit Day...yes...of course ANYTIME...of course with the TOMCAT

voted F-14...also:pilotfly:

BTW: another poll --> Strike aircraft: F-15E also great 4 A2A...so V don't really need the C version...especially if ED makes an E version model with removable Conformal Fuel Tanks (CFTs)...just 4 smaller drag/better performance

Atop the midnight tarmac,

a metal beast awaits.

To be flown below the radar,

to bring the enemy his fate.

HAVE A BANDIT DAY !

The problem with that is that the MudHen basically NEVER does CAP or Intercept missions, it's simply not what it does. If we get the Strike Eagle and begin mixing it up with Flankers all day and night, it won't really be all that realistic of a scenario because in the real world you just tell the Charlie models to do that kind of thing. Although the classic helo kill via Paveway is definately something to look foreward to. Getting scared now, Kamov pilots?

They'd only use the Paveways when on the ground. The helo kill they got was when a chopper was unloading some bad guys, and they dropped. While the weapon was en route, the helo started to take off. The WSO tried like mad to keep the laser on the target, and just when they thought it had missed, the helo blew to a billion pieces. If I was in a MudHen and saw a Kamov on the radar (owned!) I'd probably go for AMRAAM, or maybe steer the LANTIRN or Sniper XL on him for a Maverick shot. Either way, it's not turning out well for the 'Shark as you can surely imagine.
