Why are you thinking that this issue will be solved in stable release? I bet that will not. In the past we have seen many bugs remains in stable. Just look not rendering some details in one eye (in VR) that is pending for fixing since 2.5.6 appears (more than 1 year ago).

Yes I am. Considering that this will effectively be a final product and will be in the same space as other titles. There are many bugs yes, some will surely make it through to stable thats the way things go. There are bugs in all software, however for something so visual and hyped they just cannot make it final as it is. As for the VR in one eye thing, I'm sure that has been worked on for a while. This could be the shared parser mode which we can use now. To me this shows great promise for the future, but its not finished yet. Its complicated stuff, I'm sure.

Seriously...they definitely have all hands on deck for the Hornet. Would have liked to see more work on the Viper and, well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed to see no Marianas or Hind even though I knew that was a pipe dream.

Still...any update is a good update!

Did they modify things to eliminate the need to delete shaders files after a change? Been away from the game for a fairly long break and went to delete after the 2.7 upgrade. Couldn’t seem to find the folders where I thought they used to be?
thanks

Allegedly the updater is supposed to wipe out the shader files nowadays after installing every patch, but... I've just finished installing today's update and the junk files were still there.

So, I recommend checking for their presence and cleaning them up manually anyway.

Impressively long list indeed, though I can't resist saying I'm a bit disappointed...

Unfortunately no cloud fix yet 😞

Guess I'll stick to helo's a little bit longer then. (The cloud jitter makes me nauseous and in helo's, low to the ground, it seems much less striking)

Also no word on the Syria helipads bug 😞

Yep... I know... there's always that guy... Can't help it, sorry...

Guys, DCS is in permanent state of beta.  The release version is just a OB build that is chosen to be just about acceptable with no show stopping bugs.

That's pretty much how all software is...

Was there or was there not any fps optimization in this patch?(I can't make heads or tails of half the patch contents as too what they do).. If not, when can we expect to see improvement on performance?

Really be nice to see if the crashing every second mission or trying to enter the f14 more than once. Don't see anything about it in patch notes so I'm guessing it's same thing. I know they have a small crew on the f16 at this point but after 6 month's of nothing for the viper it's really getting old.

Very impressive list of patch notes! Especially the fixes for the AIM120/TWS and various dubious AI behaviour are more than welcome. Thanks peeps!

Crashed twice for me already. Both times, it was the second mission.

Ironically if you set compatibility mode to Windows 8 it doesnt crash but it takes a bit longer to load and much longer to close DCS

2.7 has always taken a long time to load and unload for me.  No Win 8 thing going on here for that.

Maybe i haven´t explained...

DCS 2.7 + No compatibility mode: Load or exit to desktop speed normal, crash on second mission or changing map

DCS 2.7 + Compatibility mode setting as Windows 8: Longer load speed and much longer to exit from game but no crash

Im not comparing 2.7 to 2.5 loading times

Sorry, maybe I am not explaining well, 2.7 + No compatibility load or exit is NOT normal for me, and with regular crashes.

Takes up to 1 minute to exit.

^ Same here. Well, maybe not up to 1 minute on exit, but definitely much longer than in 2.5.6 era. Today's patch hasn't improved anything in this aspect either it seems.

5ephir0th is saying it will stop crashing if you enable windows 8 compatibility mode.

Ships AI. Ships unable to reach max speed - fixed.

Finally Stennis can go 30 knots (quick look saw 29) instead of max 26. I've been trying that for two years, Kuznetsov does 32 instead of 28 (quick look shows 31).

Option is added to go to first waypoint SP (Starting Point?, which you couldn't do before. Last waypoint is now named DP (Destination Point?).

In Mission Editor (ME) down arrow increase speed, up arrow decrease speed. Don't think it did that before. Don't really care minor.

Steamed a couple of minutes. Not accelerating. Max speed in ME is one knot less than settable.

Oddly enough, mine started out with this behavior right after 2.7, then one day it stopped. A few days ago, it was back... up to 40 seconds to close.

In that time I've had to reload my GPU software, and I changed MB... now it's back to "normal" and exits before I can usually take off the G2 and look at my desktop.

I understand what he is saying! This has been all over the big crash thread.
I’m talking about the load and unload times not being normal without that ‘fix’.
