@Northstar98  I have posted my settings above and now here is my result.

I don't have a very powerful machine, a 4.7 CPU with 32 Gb DDR3 RAM and a 1660Ti GPU. Full specs in my sig.

Are you overclocked?

Hey @rayrayblues, noticed you use "fast" as vertical sync in NVCP, and in my case I see stutters everywhere with that.
Have you tried to use "on" for instance, as baseline for smooth playing? Did you see any stutter, btw?
Yeah, I'm the one "low rig crazy" that sit at the end of day and spend hours playing with the settings..

I get fewer stutters now with these settings. Everybody's rig is different. What are your specs?

Despite that, it still give fair potential and joy, not too fancy with the settings though..

Yeah, you are a bit under min specs. Do you have MSI Afterburner OC software for GPU's?

You can download it here:   Afterburner | MSI Global - The Leading Brand in High-end Gaming & Professional Creation

You can probably squeeze a little more out of your card. How about your virtual memory?

I would bump it up to 32,768 at least.

Is your drive almost full? Are you using an SSD or a HDD?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions but these details matter especially on a lightweight rig.

Kinda want to upgrade, but in my country all PC prices went crazy high.. waiting to drop a bit (some more white hair will appear for sure by that).

Not using overclock at all, afraid of this old rig to not enjoy some extra party, furthermore I'm zero capable to do such thing.

Virtual memory is something mystical for me.. some missions gave me some crash to desktop issues, and I adventured in this area increasing virtual memory, which in fact resolved that issue somehow.

But I don't really understand that. In terms of performance/stutters, it didn't really matter if virtual memmory is 4GB or 16GB, the performance is the same.
(yeah, don't know, technically saying, what's going under the hood, just like to mess around with settings).
DCS is stored in D  driver (print attached).. "JOGOS" = "Games" in portuguese language.

Sorry, but didn't undestand "I would bump it up to 32,768 at least.", on what this would help... reserve some memory to system?

My driver is HDD, 27% free (500GB in total)... almost all reserved for DCS modules. Thinking carefully which next module would be.

That % of space could result in lower performance? Hum... not thought of that...

I did notice huge drop performance when choosing "high/low" terrain textures, even though not visually see that much difference. I spent hours testing that, on different terrains and variables, and Syria indeed is the most demanding so far (I know, early acces and so)... my 12G rig cries when I intend to load that terrain.

Don't worry with questions, I like to learn with others experiences, and to share mine.

Increase your page file to 32,768. That will give you 32 Gb of virtual memory. As soon as you can, you must

get an SSD. I know they are about $65.00 US Dollars, but it will be the best 65 bucks you ever spent.

SAMSUNG 870 EVO Series 2.5" 500GB SATA III V-NAND SSD - Newegg.com

You won't regret it.  DCS is expanding and must be on an SSD. HDD's are just not fast enough.

It's the single most effective way to speed up your computer.  Keep in touch.

Thanks for page file tips.

Second the SSD endorsement.

I went for the cheapest SSD I could find (from well known manufacturer). Idea, right or wrong (I researched a bit): There's no point chasing the fastest possible SSD because 1) they differ so little it isn't worth paying 2-3 times as much 2) any SSD is vastly faster than platter drives.

With the "Macrium Reflect" (free) one can transfer the hard disk image to SSD. No need to start from scratch, reinstalling operating system etc ...

Steady fps will not / did not improve. Stutter from HD access will improve immensely. It'll next to go away.

Once restarted, Steam DOES NOT FIND DCS AS ALREADY INSTALLED and I had to install DCS again 2 times!!!!!

This is a nightmare, more than 100GB to be installed twice because the fatal CTD 😞

I had this about 2 years ago. It's steam issue, google it you will find a lot. There is no need to redownload all files, you can copy those you have and steam should redownload only those missing. Then do validation and steam will fix all that was broken.

Installed games are appearing as uninstalled

I remember that I solve this by delating Steam files from it's main folder and then allowing steam to re-download he's files without reinstalling. But if you doing all reinstalling, I would suggest to start from Steam client.

I've done a couple repair installs recently, still can't choose/change livery from the re-arm/refuel menu.

All aircraft.

Any ideas?

Not that I'm aware of. I don't have any custom liveries saved or loaded.

OIC the option for livery is missing... looks like a mod conflict at a guess

Think it is random crash related.

I retraced my steps and realized I had specified a livery for the FA-18 loadout on my standalone server. Since that is where I was flying when it crashed, perhaps it affected that part of the game across the board.

I managed to get that feature back by going to the mission editor and setting the FA-18 livery back to default.

What doesn't make sense is, why it affected each aircraft and any mission.
