Boberro Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Hi, (searched threads but didn't find answer) I have question how to ban somebody from server? Is any possible without looking for IP, or is any program which can do it automatically, or LUA script? I am using Hyper Lobby also. I won't click Kick at 3 seconds, cause some players made burdel ect. Could you help me with it? Thanks. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... I guess, there simply is no way except banning a specific IP. But IPs often are dynamic and change (dial-up connection), so this wont help you much either. If you experienced trouble with somebody on a public server, you have the following choices: - Stay on that server and ignore this person - Inform the owner of that server (but there is not much he can do about it..) - Leave this server and find yourself another - my recommended choice - Do nothing at all and just live with it kind regards, Raven.... ED Team Groove Posted December 30, 2007 ED Team Posted December 30, 2007 Banning a IP range will do colleteral damage baning people from the ISP which can play on your server anymore. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
golfsierra2 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Please give some more details: Is it your own server ? Do you hold the admin rights on it ? Is it a game server (hyperlobby) or are you hosting a homepage / forum ? kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
SoaringEagle74 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Unless someone has a static ip banning is not an option nor is banning an a ip range because anyone else using the same isp will not be able to play on that server. I heard the best way to ban someone is to send a user rootkit that causes a dos attack but I think this is illegal. They actually did this to me at one site but I think it was cia sponsered/operated so they get away with it!
Boberro Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 It is my own server which I create on HL, but some ppl enter and simple ruin game by TK ect. Even I can ban range IP, cause probability that 2 ppl will enter into my server from one IP range adress is rather low. So it isn't problem :) Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. golfsierra2 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 See http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=4 "Edit your ignore list" Maybe that will give an idea to solve your problem. kind regards, Raven.... Boberro Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 Thanks but you can also enter bypassing HL, so good idea if is it any LUA script which secure server... I know LUA can be edited but don't know how to make this. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... S77th-konkussion Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 You could require your clients to be on a comms channel prior to joining. Set up a server password and distribute it there. IP banning does work quite well and we rarely had any issues. Certainly there was never a slew of people not being able to fly in our server. In fact -none- in the almost 3 years I was an admin for the public S77th Server. I can think of only a couple of times where we had a forum post asking "Why can't I join" and after some checking & questioning- they both turned out to be big time repeat violators legitimately singled out for permanent banning. Boberro Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 You are right, I use now CommView and see all players, so I have theirs IP, and can ban whole area. But to do this I must add IPs to firewall but my firewall doesn't work or what (use Eset SmartSecurity) Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make...
