Weight Boards check

Pumped for the release next week.

Curious with all the detail for the launch sequence, do you have plans to add the deckcrew memeber who holds up the weight board when taxing onto the CAT? The weight value is known by the jet in DCS (e.g. Hornet checklist page), so it could be known to the deckcrew AI and shown for fidelity.

Thoughts?

Would be great for the F-14 as well, since there's no digital system showing the pilot current weight.

I remember years ago a vid showing some digital boards being tested on one of the boats. I wonder if any got implemented on any carriers, possibly something completely different?

Anyone knows?

Edit: Actually never mind, different timeframe ;/

the board is not for telling the pilot his aircraft's weight, but for confirming the data given to the deck crew for setting up the catapult is still correct.

So you have to know your weight before seeing it on the board.

Yeah because weight boards aren't a thing at all in real life /s

As stated already, the weight board is a safety check. You must know you aircraft weight. The board shows what data the cat controller has used to set the cat. If the weights do not agree you are in for an early bath.

What it certainly doesn’t do is tell the pilot how heavy his jet is!

But since DCS doesn't make mistakes it could be used to get your aircraft weight. In a manner that doesn't remove the realism aspect. Or wait, better yet... Maybe that's a random failure that can happen. They show you the wrong weight and you don't catch it and you get a soft cat shot.
