Hi everyone,

Is there any solution to switch to open beta, and switch back to the release without downloading 70 GB?:helpsmilie:

I tried with the DCS Updater Utility but it asked me to download the entire game...

I hope it's possible cause there are no MP WWII servers (with people) on the release version:pilotfly:

What do you mean by "Updater Utility"? The tool that you have to download and provides you with a graphical user interface or the command prompt? I don't know how the former works, but with the command prompt it should work fine without you having to download the entire game: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

Updating or Switching an Install Between "Open Beta" and "Release" Version Branches (1.2.8.):

In the Command Prompt Windows:

Type: dcs_updater.exe update <version>@Branch (ie DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.1@openbeta, DCS_updater.exe update 2.0.0@openalpha )

DCS_updater.exe update @release

DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta

On the other hand 70GB, might actually be the sum of all the beta patches that have been released since the last stable version. :music_whistling:

Yes exactly that's it.

And for the link when I try to enter "DCS_updater. exe update @openbeta", it doesn't work, with the PowerShell and the Command Prompt....

I'm lost ...:megalol:

You need to navigate to the correct folder within the Command Prompt first before executing this command. It's all explained in the guide in the steps above ;)

So I did all right (I think) and it still asking to download...

Well, of course you have to download something as there is a difference between stable and beta and that difference is quiet big, considering how many patches the beta has recieved since the last stable update.

You could install another hard drive. SSDs are about $100 for a terrabite now.

Yeah I know but I can't, I have only one slot and I don't want to buy another SSD...

Well you have to when the Stable gets updated.

What do you mean?

When the stable gets updated again you will have to download all this data anyway.
