Von Thrud
Since 2.5.6 Especially BHOT modes of the Litening for the hornet and warthog are excessively bright and washed out... the contrast is as bad in WHOT but less of the screen is blindingly white. 1080ti, phillips 4k 40 inch monitor, 32 gigs ram. m2 sata i7 7700 4.5ghz. images attached Is this a new feature or is this a result of 2.5.6 lighting changes ? any fixes or workarounds or wait for a fix. IS it reported. Do you need more info.? Thanks System: I7 7700K - Delidded. Schmidtfire
From what I can see on your Hornet pics: You have displays set in DAY mode (switch on top of MFD). Try setting it to NIGHT and also play with the Brightness and Contrast knobs to get a picture you are happy with. A10C pics: Try adjust Brightness and Contrast + Gain. Im not too familiar with the A10C, maybe there is a "night mode" option?
Von Thrud
Tried, those setting only change the grade of brightness not the glaring contrast effect which makes viewing hard. Def a change from 2.5.5. What I didnot supply / show was the export to my second monitor for helios and those screens dont have the glow / glare effect, but still have the new contrast issue from 2.5.5 to 2.5.6 System: I7 7700K - Delidded. In the Hog you need to learn to use the brightness, contrast etc rocker switches next to the mfds to dial it in. Also if you haven't already set your gamma to 1.6 if you recently updated to 2.5.6. Von Thrud
Gamma was already 1.5, Setting level to 8 and gain to 1 did improve BHOT on the hog, but hornet you can't change settings ??? AFAIK ? THough on the hog those settings wrecked WHOT. Since I have no instructions (or foundational knowledge ) on FLIR settings wondering what the official word is ? Schmidtfire
Hornet is in Early Access and might not have all features implemented for adjusting the displays. I cannot speak for the A-10C but certain graphic settings in options might enhance the glowing effect. 2.5.6 was recently released. Usually the modules and cockpits are a step behind graphics engine. In short. When there is an update to DCS graphics/lights, the cockpits must be adjusted. This usually happens at a later date (or in some cases not at all) depending on priority or severity of the issue. That is just something that you have to work around, sometimes there are mods in the download section that help you until there are an official fix avalible. As for FLIR. Eagle Dynamics is working on a new renderer. It will probably take at least a year or so, but it is coming. 2.5.6 look a lot better then 2.5.5, but some items will most likely need adjustments.
