Forward air controller missions?

Hi there,

 

are there any missions available somewhere which set the A-10C in the role of a forward air controller, assigning ground targets for other planes to attack and co-ordinating air strikes?

I wouldn't want to do it singleplayer, managing the AI is frustrating right now. But there's nothing stopping you from being a FAC in servers like Georgia at War. In fact it would be appreciated by many I'm sure.

Thanks for the reply! Makes a lot of sense about the AI.

I‘m pretty new to DCS and very new to the A10. Only did a handful of multiplayer missions, but understand multiplayer is the way to go.

I‘ll watch out for the Georgia at War server for my next attempts.

That's a great question!

 

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any such SP mission.

 

Like ZeroReady said, the AI has its issues. It might still be possible to do a good AFAC scenario with triggers and/or scripting, but I guess most mission designers would lose their sanity before something good came out of it.

 

MP is definitely the way to go!

It only happens in the 3rd party campaigns. I don't want to promote one over another but yes it happens with some heavy scripting that currently can only be found in 3rd party missions/campaigns
