Emacs
Hi there, are there any missions available somewhere which set the A-10C in the role of a forward air controller, assigning ground targets for other planes to attack and co-ordinating air strikes? Cheers, Emacs
ZeroReady
I wouldn't want to do it singleplayer, managing the AI is frustrating right now. But there's nothing stopping you from being a FAC in servers like Georgia at War. In fact it would be appreciated by many I'm sure.
Emacs
Hii ZeroReady, Thanks for the reply! Makes a lot of sense about the AI. I‘m pretty new to DCS and very new to the A10. Only did a handful of multiplayer missions, but understand multiplayer is the way to go. I‘ll watch out for the Georgia at War server for my next attempts. Yurgon
are there any missions available somewhere which set the A-10C in the role of a forward air controller, assigning ground targets for other planes to attack and co-ordinating air strikes? That's a great question! Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any such SP mission. Like ZeroReady said, the AI has its issues. It might still be possible to do a good AFAC scenario with triggers and/or scripting, but I guess most mission designers would lose their sanity before something good came out of it. MP is definitely the way to go!
Dagger71
It only happens in the 3rd party campaigns. I don't want to promote one over another but yes it happens with some heavy scripting that currently can only be found in 3rd party missions/campaigns
