Why????[/Quote] TL;DR: Multi-crew is more realistic requiring team work, while SP auto-hover uses a cheat/AI pilot assistance when switching to the co-pilot/commander. Detail: AFAIK IRL auto-hover doesn't have the rudder authority or control the collective, so a pilot uses pedals to hold/adjust the heading (hence the ADI's VIS mode) and collective to control height. Bug???? No, the difference between SP and multi-crew auto-hover is by design.
