... maybe the Devs inform us when one esential part is ready

I'm not in any hurry, as there are a lot of Modules expected before the end of the year: Hind, MB-339, Mosquito, Apache  ... but I'd really appreciate a Status Report every 3 or 4 months, it would help a lot to keep potential customers interested 👍

They could tell me nothing for the next two years and I'll still buy it first day I can....

I really like the vibe in this thread. It's like we're trying really hard to not scare the new dev away. Keep it up, we can do better than we have done before, I'm sure of it. 🙂

Yeah, that's pretty much what it's about

I don't need monthly or even quarterly progress updates, but it would be great to know the devs atleast are alive and the project is still  going ahead though 😉

So, devs, if you read this, give us a *peep* 😄

Well, there you have it. We can all rest easy that the project is still alive. (at least for a few months before the paranoia sets in again)

Here is a good strategy for me on how to deal with DCS and new releases. It worked for me, maybe it'll work for others:

I was one of you guys. I couldn't wait for whatever. I would think about it daily, I would talk to my buddies about it daily, until we ran out of things to talk about (Tomcat related). And then we'd start all over again, until we ran out again etc.

At some point we got sick of it, I think. And I personally decided I'd just ignore the Tomcat. It's not easy, since it's arguably the coolest, most badass fighter jet the navy ever had. Heck, anyone ever had!

And then I started focusing on other planes. I told myself, the Tomcat might be 2-3 years out, I can't talk every day about it. I can't be in a permanently hyped state about the Tomcat for 2-3 years. I could barely stand the few weeks leading up to DLCs in other games. So, I learned other aircraft. Turns out, the Viggen is actually very interesting. Is it my favourite airplane? No, not by a long shot. But it's heckin' interesting. The whole low level fighter bomber approach, the surprisingly sophisticated autopilot (still the only autopilot that will not only get you back home but also on a final approach to the runway!), the radar etc.

After that I got into the Hornet. Started learning about navy carrier procedures and that whole stuff. It's not wasted time, I was going to use that knowledge for the Tomcat later. And while the Hornet was missing a lot of features, it was interesting enough to figure things out...

It doesn't matter which airplane you pick, if you aren't a hardcore one-plane only type of person, you will find other things to do to keep you entertained. And then, all of a sudden, there's a newspost from Heatblur. Amazing, we can talk about something new, so we talked about it and were hyped for an evening and then we went back to absolutely ignoring the Tomcat. Only mentioning it here and there.

And before you knew it, HB was going "Yo, we ready, we gonna release, get yourselves hyped!" And we did, and it only took a month or two and then it was there, and it was glorious. And not once was I really frustrated. Impatient? Sure, always a little bit. But frustrated? Upset? Scared that HB would suddenly vanish from the face of Earth? Nah, not even a tiny bit.

I strongly suggest other people give it a try. The Typhoon is most likely not going to hit the DCS airfields before '24 or '25. It will be a long wait. If y'all keep asking every few days why the developer isn't giving you a daily update on them still being alive an kicking, you will burn out long, long before the Typhoon is here. It's unfortunate, but we all have to play the long game here. Aim for a 2025 release, pace yourself. And you know what, if Truegrit is done earlier than that? Well, who is upset about getting something awesome earlier, huh?

TL;DR: Just my personal sob story about the Tomcat wait and how to deal with the anticipation. Ignore the dream, do something else. They won't mind if you forget them for a while, devs are big boys, they can take it. And they know... if you build it, the hype will come. 🙂

My man I totally agree and this is the way how I wait for next modules since the Hornet and works flawlessly.

But on the other hand I have to agree with the other side also. They could periodically every 6 months or so just post a message which says something along the lines: project is alive, we do not have any problems with licensing and such things. And why? Every normal customer will be satisfied and it will diminish any rumours about it being canceled which can stir up forums like now happened here. Communication is the key in a good relationship between 2 humans who love each other or between a customer and a company. That's my take at it.

With the news of Heatblurs support I have to revise my prediction: Now I don't think anymore that a EA-release will not be possible before 2024. With Heatblurs help it might be possible that we will see a first playable version of the Eurofighter prior to 2024. Might is the keyword, as I still don't think it's likely to happen that fast.

On Heatblurs public road map they said that their next gen moduel (which I think we can pretty safely assume is the Typhoon)

Was scheduled for release in 2022
