Concerned! Campaign not advancing

Recommended Posts

A week ago I successfully finished TAC18. The next day I fired up TTQ expecting to see TAC19 for my next go. I was greeted with TAC18 again. Thinking I must have pressed cancel when exiting the campaign, I proceeded to to refly TAC18 and moved immediately to TAC19. I exited from TAC19 and completed TAC19 earlier this week making sure not to press cancel. I exited DCS and today when loading TTQ I see that TAC19 is my current mission AGAIN. This is the second time the campaign has failed to advance after successful mission completion. I followed Sabre's advice and tried a DCS repair and a campaign uninstall/reinstall but no joy. Here is the logbook.lua entry for TAC20 if that helps:

[47] =

{

["datetime"] = "Mon Apr 27 20:43:26 2020",

["agKills"] = 0,

["aaKills"] = 0,

["stage"] = 11,

["deathsCount"] = 0,

["result"] = 0,

["mission"] = "A-10C - TAC20.miz",

}, -- end of [47]

I must admit to being a bit freaked that I've gotten this far if only to get stuck :cry:. Many thanks for any help you guys can provide.

The campaign advances to the next mission when the mission score is > 50.

It may be possible to end the mission before the score has had a chance to update.

After your next successful mission before selecting END MISSION ensure the score is >50 which it should be if you get a Qual or Qual Minus rating.

If you fail and get an UNQUAL rating then it will stay at 50 and you will have to repeat the mission.

Hi Sabre,

Understood but here is the lua entry for TAC19:

[46] =

{

["datetime"] = "Mon Apr 27 20:42:34 2020",

["agKills"] = 3,

["aaKills"] = 0,

["stage"] = 10,

["deathsCount"] = 0,

["result"] = 75,

["mission"] = "A-10C - TAC19.miz",

}, -- end of [46]

The result meets the criteria and I received a Q- if I remember correctly. Ideas?

That's a win for the that mission since you are over 75. So it should progress to the next mission.

In your logbook in the games section locate the campaign# associated with the campaign. In the example below the campaign# is 12.

Within that section what does the highest numbered reference indicate?

In this example the 2nd mission is stage 2 and there are no results as it hasn't been played yet.

For example:

           ["games"] =
           {
             [12] =
               {
                   ["created"] = "Thu May  7 10:49:14 2020",
                   ["player"] = "New Pilot",
                   ["campaign"] = "./Mods/campaigns/A-10C TTQ/A-10C - Tactical Training Qualification.cmp",
                   ["status"] = "Active",
                   ["history"] =
                   {
                       [1] =
                       {
                           ["datetime"] = "Thu May  7 10:50:50 2020",
                           ["agKills"] = 0,
                           ["result"] = 100,
                           ["aaKills"] = 0,
                           ["deathsCount"] = 0,
                           ["stage"] = 1,
                           ["mission"] = "A-10C - TTQ Arrival.miz",
                       }, -- end of [1]
                       [2] =
                       {
                           ["stage"] = 2,
                           ["mission"] = "A-10C - TAC11.miz",
                       }, -- end of [2]
                   }, -- end of ["history"]
               }, -- end of [12]

If you want to play TAC20 then the stage should be set to 11 and the mission title should say "A-10C - TAC20.miz"

Please show what your logbook is showing for the highest numbered section. That should help explain why it's not moving to the next mission.

Hi Sabre,

Thanks for sticking with this. This is the highest campaign number and its associated lua entries"

[48] =

{

["stage"] = 10,

["mission"] = "A-10C - TAC19.miz",

}, -- end of [48]

Obviously much is missing. The questions "how to fix?" and "why did this occur?" spring to mind. Many thanks for your help!

That explains why it's stuck on TAC19.

No idea why it didn't update but if you use an editor like NOTEPAD ++ then you can change the 48 record to stage 11 and mission to "A-10C - TAC20.miz" and then it should open to the next mission (TAC20).

Bingo!

That got the campaign back on track. Even though I have no clue why this happened, at least now I know how to circumvent the problem in the future. You are a gentleman and a scholar sir! Thanks.

That's great!

DCS does some weird things sometimes and it might even be Windows getting in the way when updating files. Who knows for sure.

Please continue to report any issues, problems or ideas for improvement.

Feedback is much appreciated!
