Kiowa Warrior Detailed Intro videos

Knock-Knock

Recommended Posts

No idea why this hasnt been posted here yet, but a former (1998 to 2014) US Kiowa pilot gives us a in-depth look into the Polychop Kiowa.

This is a super-detailed explanation and cockpit orientation in the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior Cockpit from Polychop.

This is for nerds. Most of the stuff I talk about doesn't have much application in the game, but it'll give you some background information on some of the systems and switchology.

This is Pt 1 of a multi-part series starting from engine start, through a runup.

Part 2 in a series covering detailed information about the KW cockpit and systems. This video takes you through pre-starting engines to just before the battery is turned on. For detail freaks only. This is for nerds!

I wonder when this thing might get released though... I'd almost guess it's just around the corner

The tried and true Two Weeks

But seriously, I'm curious what needs to be done still or what remaining conditions need to be met before release.

I hope it is not too far off. It really looks fantastic.

It also looks pretty finished. Or maybe that's just my wishful thinking

Excellent videos, very informative and from a guy who really knows his stuff.

Looking forward to Vid 4.

HP G2 Reverb, Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate as standard. OpenXR user, Open XR tool kit disabled. Open XR was a massive upgrade for me.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), 0 X MSAA, 0 X SSAA. My real IPD is 64.5mm. Prescription VROptition lenses installed. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC at the mo. MT user  (2 - 5 fps gain). DCS run at 60Hz.

Vaicom user. Thrustmaster warthog user. MFG pedals with damper upgrade.... and what an upgrade! Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height with brail enhancements to ensure 100% button activation in VR.. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound.... you know when you are dropping into VRS with this bad boy.

Amazing videos.! Watching these informative videos really sets the stage for what is to be one of the most exciting modules to date.

Thank you for really taking the time to make these as informative as can be. After a few mins I really felt as if you were in a real OH-58 Kiowa cockpit.

I have created a new thread for these videos. The opening post will be maintained by me with every newly released video. This will keep things more organised.

Skip to around 30 minutes for all new content. Before the 30 minute mark, Barundus recaps some items mentioned in previous videos and goes in to more detail on them.
