Having the same issue, and took a look at your log, it bombs out in the same place, Illegal Instruction InitVFS... It bombed for an A-10C mission and F-18, but it wasn't able to run one of my F-18 missions - VFR Landing, Persian Map had no issues.

My mission was pretty light, so I tried taking a few things out and it would seem if I remove the MQ-1A out of my mission, mission loads fine.

 

Edit: I take it back... as soon as I clicked F2 and went to the external view, it crashed again.

Crashes When loading Any Mission Or Quick Start

 

Same here. Downloaded update. Downloaded SC. Crashes when loading mission (any). Performed cleanup, performed repair. Still crashes when loading any quick start, mission. Crash log sent twice. Attached last crash log here. Please advise. Everything was fine until update 5/20/20 and downloaded SC too.:dunno::dunno:

Please increase Pagefile up to 20 GB or (better) higher.

Please remove all unofficial mods ( if any ) and run a cleanup and repair or verify for steam users

Completely reinstalled and no joy with no mods, removed DCS.openbeta directory as well. Logs were submitted.

 

If I create a mission with a single aircraft and nothing else, it will load, but going to external view immediately crash. Changed the aircraft to an AI so that it would start in external view, and launch the game, it crashed right away. Launch the mission with no units, it loads up, I can cycle with F11 and go to all airports and look around, no issues, so the issue seems to happen when viewing the external model of any aircraft.

 

Even tried launching again A10 player aircraft with a MQ-1A near me, nothing else in the map, and it crashes on load. Remove the predator, loads fine and flies until I hit F2.

This crash related with old AMD processors without SSE 4.1 support (Phenom, Athlon II, A8 ). Programmers works with issue.

Updated NVIDIA updated drivers. Cleaned and repaired once again. Confirmed vanilla basic aircraft only, no mods. Still crashes. Added additional fresh crash file.

For anyone waiting on a patch to address these issues, you can roll back to the last openbeta so you can still play while waiting for the fix.

 

Open a command window to your DCS/bin folder and run:

dcs_updater update 2.5.6.49314

 

On subsequent launches, it will tell you a new version is available. Just click "Later" until the patch is available.

Please not that harsh.

 

I operate my system with a Phenom II X 840 3.20 MHz, so that's not the freshest, but as I'm more interested in the simulation and system stuff and feel okay not to have the fanciest water or farest drawing distance.

I think, the guys making videos and the like operate newer hardware. But that's the open beta for. Find the bigger basis before going stable.

Yes, I'm a bit sad too, that there were so many changes in the last month, but no stable update, so far, but better find this kind of bug in OB, than have such bad things in a rushed out stable release.

This is a problem with a particular processor of an older type from AMD, there are many different configurations out there, if the team dont have particular processor we wont see the crash. Which is why we have an open beta public testing build.

 

No need for the salt about you tubers.
