steelrfan85
I set my radio to manual 127.500 for the ship and announced my inbound but never got anything back from the ship. I tried 4 times. Anybody else having this problem or fix?
AG-51_Sabot
Had Jester set the Radio to GW and had no Issues on the CQ mission "There is an art … to flying. RustBelt
Are you transmitting on Radio 2 or 1? Only Radio 2 can tune down to the 100 MHz range.
steelrfan85
I think 2. It showed 127.500 on the radio panel by the hook down handle. What is GW? I just opened jester and put manually since I couldn’t pull it up in the ATC box.
Uxi
GW is George Washington. Jester Menu to radio and then tune Tac and the carrier should be there asking with any tankers and AWACS, if any. stuart666
I set my radio to manual 127.500 for the ship and announced my inbound but never got anything back from the ship. I tried 4 times. Anybody else having this problem or fix? Yeah, ive noticed this issue too. I found if I got Jester to set the frequency again, it would work perfectly. So there might be a jester issue there that could be flagged up to the Devs.
steelrfan85
Oh ok. Yeah I set the tacan for the Lincoln. I’ll have to play around with it a bit. Are you having any comm issues where the ball option doesn’t pop up on menus sometimes. I called inbound, then says see you at 10 and so I call that and get the Charlie signal and make my break and doesn’t always give me the F2. Hornet ball. Specially if I get a wave off or bolter. Sometimes I get a CLARA pop up.
steelrfan85
I will say it is a practice mission my friend made but I wouldn’t think that is the issue.
Spirit X
Unlikely that this is the cause but I've been caught out a couple of times because you have to wait for Jester to stop pushing buttons as he tunes the radio. Sometimes it takes him a good few seconds.
Warhawk67
So are me and the OP the only ones experiencing this problem or is it a "bug".
MrDieing
Double check that the frequency for the carrier is set to 127.500 in the Mission Editor. This is what caught me the first time. Note that it only works on this frequency. Changing the frequency to something else then that in the ME does not work. steelrfan85
I waited for him. He the radio showed 127.500 and even gave a few more seconds. I’ll have to play with it some more.
Warhawk67
You know I'm wondering if that might not be my issue. When I put the freq in, I put it in as 127.5 not 127.500 because I knew the system would drop the last two digits.
Nightmare22
Issue for me too, even tried to get Jester to tune to a random airbase in the hope I could then tune back to the carrier. Tuned to Kutasi and got a full CTD
Warhawk67
For the record that didn't resolve my issue either.
stuart666
I found it takes 2 requests from jester to make sure you are tuned in. Oh, he tunes in alright, you can see that on the panel repeater. But it doesnt work until you request again. Give it a try, i think its a jester or supercarrier bug.

The only thing I haven't done is try changing the CV to a different model. Just to test if it's an issue with the GW.
probaco
Don't use the "communication menu" button. Assign the "Mic button UHF2 (arc-182)" and "Mic button UHF1 (arc-159)" in the control menu for communicating with the carrier and other items. As said before... UHF2 is for the carrier. Using the others will result in no reply.
